Blades of Glory on Blu-ray is still selling better than the hd-dvd version on amazon. This is hilarious!

Yes it is. Many Blu-Ray supporters are selling their players and discs, many claiming this will kill HDM, etc. There is a Smurf Suicide watch right now.

And for those claiming Paramount/Dreamworks just killed HDM, Amir put it right

Then let's have the blu-ray camp fold their tents and join us. Seriously, why is it that we have a moral obligation to give up but you don't? If the highest priority is a single format, there are two ways to do it, why not consider the reverse? After all, our format is complete and it works. What you have is more companies on your side. That can be fixed quickly with one decision as we just saw.

It was selling better before...However, what you fail to understand, is its been canceled. It will (in theory) not ship and you will not be watching it on your Blu-ray Player. I, however will be.

I do understand it's been canceled, hence the reason why I find it funny. If Blades of Glory floats your boat, go right ahead. I won't be losing sleep over the great masterpiece that is Blades of Glory.

Where do you get this "many" blu-ray supporters selling their stuff? I've been following most of the threads over there and people are just understandibly pissed.

In its statement, the BDA expresses what can only be described as bewilderment at why Paramount and sister studio DreamWorks would choose to exclusively support HD DVD at a time when the sales gulf between the two formats seems to be so clearly in Blu-ray's favor.

"The decision seems oddly timed given Blu-ray's tremendous momentum both with consumers and with retail," said Andy Parsons, Chairman, Blu-ray Disc Association US Promotions Committee. "Blu-ray title sales continue to outpaceHD-DVD sales by nearly a 2 to 1 margin, and major retailers have expressed a strong preference for Blu-ray.

"Moreover, the price delta between HD DVD and Blu-ray players has been greatly reduced in the past few months, a trend that is on its way to eliminating any perceived cost advantage the HD DVD format has claimed to have. Under these circumstances, we can only imagine what could have enticed Paramount to walk away from a format that is clearly selling significantly more software than the HD-DVD format."

Damn. Even Blu-Ray studios whine...

That's right! Bill Hunt, the digitalbits, AVS forum, the BDA, Sony, Blu-Ray early adopters...are all a bunch of whiners! When will their crying stop? HD-DVD players cost less to manufacture, and HD-DVDs cost 75% less than Blu-Ray discs to produce (based on an earlier post). What's there not to like?

it will make for an all out, laugh out loud day of entertainment for reading.

Son, that poster still has not put any proof on the table on the BR discs costing 4x more so I would stop the FUD right there.
I remember your posts vividly whining about Sony paying people off but now when the shoe is on the other foot, the BDA are a bunch of whiners.
Rest assured that Blu-ray will still maintain it's 2-1 sales advantage since Fox=Paramount.

Read the BR forums. AaronSCH, who has been a HUGE BR supporter, is not dropping the format and going back to DVD. Many others are flipping out.

I had no interest in Blades of Glory, but if it weren't so expensive I'd pick it up on HD-DVD simply because of this announcement.

Yet you feel compelled to post about how high it is on Amazon?
I guess Translosers and Shrek the Turd don't mean anything now either, right?

Both posters that started the thread said that they will NOT support either format due to the Paramount decision

Oh trust me, losing Transformers hurts. Somehow how I wish Paramount would have went exclusive after Transformers.

Me, too! I am having a wet dream tonight that Warner Bros. goes exclusive with HD-DVD tomorrow! It will be hilarious to see the Blu-Ray fanboys doing their incessant whining for another day!

I have not left the house and have been on various forums enjoying everything. I did managed to watch Black Snake Moan on HD DVD...but this has been more entertaining.

I have been a lot of things in my life, but never a whiner like the Blu-Ray cry-babys on this board! If ever I posted about the Evil Empire, it was fact-based, not this pathetic whining that has caused my sides to hurt because of so much laughter!

Funny how I don't remember any facts, just rantings.

Anyway you look at it, Hd-dvd got quite the coup today. There's no denying that and congrats to hd-dvd supporters.

I'll be the first in line to buy all your Blu-Rays for $5 each. I dare you. I'll give you even $6 each for the trouble. People act like this is the end of Blu-Ray. Can you people be that stupid?
