yeah but for whatever reason those emails from amazons always end up in my spam folder. its strange my emails notifying me when a item ships or i make an order go straight to my inbox but most other amazon emails go to spam, ive checked my settings and everything its baffleing.

what makes this all the more agravating is that amazon uk has the uk version of Dumbo up for pre order for march. its just very annoying lol

Is it safe to order Dumbo (Blu-ray+DVD Combo) at Hong Kong/Mexico websites?

Question: Why would you do that instead of waiting for the US release which is coming soon I think?

I'll buy 'Princess and the Frog' because it featured some really good songs and animation - but the story... uh, the filmmakers kind of slipped a cog on that aspect.

YOU ARE CORRECT!!! lol yeah its funny the disneyfanboys over at ultimate disney are all up in arms over the fact the dvd is only one disc and doesnt have all the features, and that the single disc bluray gets all the special features

go over and take a gander at their forums you will see what iam talking about. theyre are a lot of them very upset about it, and quite a few of them are very happy that we are not getting Great Mouse Detective or Alice in Wonderland in Blu when the dvd rereleases come out in March and April.

quite a few of them over there are still standard dvd only owners i am assuming, and most of the ones crying think bluray wont be around long its quite funny to read some of the posts really.

well ... I kind of agree with the negativity over Great Mouse Detective but I wont go there.

sometimes it would just make sense that some of these folk need to have a rolled up newspaper smacked on the backside of their head.

Lol i agree with you there about the rolled up newspaper.

anyways,I really wish we were getting the great mouse detective on bluray this april cause it really is a very underrated film. it sucks because the word going around is that like oliver and co last year, there was a new high def restoration job done on it. its just ashame because there is a growing number of people who dont add standard definition dvds to their librarys anymore except of course where they are included in these combo packs.

at this point though i would just be happy to have disney come out and give us some sort of indication on what date we will be able own DUMBO, FANTASIA and Beauty and The Beast, its really agravting that there are allready pre orders being taken in the UK japan, hong kong etc but here in the US we dont hear so much as a boo. Is it really that hard to come out and say were sorry due to whatever reason we have had to push back the release of " fill in the blank title" for a bit. its sad that this is the first year in a long time that there apparently wont be a spring Platinum/Diamond edition home video release.

Does anyone on here know of a place where someone can order mexican import titles cause there is a guy on bluray.com now who has posted pics of the mexican bluray of Dumbo that is availble for rental there now, and will be availble for sale starting on the 12th

since Disney is being so tight lipped as to when we will be getting dumbo, iam ready to just go ahead and import this cause i really want it.

The shipping is $18.00 USD flat rate for US only no matter how many you order. They accepts PayPal, unless you opt to use CC with verification. Also if you live in California, you'll have it by 2 days. Thats how I got my Monsters, Inc. BD/DVD Combo from last year.

Re: Disney Classic Animation BD Plans: 2009-2010 - Pinocchio, Snow White, Fantasia, B

Thanks for the info wow 18.00 thats steep but 2 days is quick since i live in Cali.
for now i just went ahead and orderd from amazon.co.uk
which comes out to 27.66us dollars shipped.

since the uk release is not till march this gives time to cancel with out having been charged if disney finally gives us a US date for dumbo or if it turns out that the uk one is not all region. i will however keep the mexican import in my box at mixup.

the fact that you said its 18.00 flat no matter how many you order, would make this a great one for some sort of group buy type deal if a group of like say 8 to 10 people wanted to get this.

I don't understand why you can't just wait. I mean, this isn't something that is questionable whether it will be released in the United States...it is coming, most likely in 2010. Are you really that impatient? I can see importing when it isn't available here at all or is likely never to be released here, but for this it just doesn't make sense. Not to mention when Dumbo does come out on Blu-ray here you know that Disney will release a coupon like they have done for their past upgraded-to-Blu-ray titles. Those of us that wait will probably get Dumbo on Blu for less than you paid to have this one shipped from Mexico.

It would be cheaper to get an amigo to bring it for you while illegally immigrating in.

I'm generally a fan of getting a digital copy, but that yellow border looks pretty nasty. We'll see what the price difference ends up being...
