Live again, I hope, in the present or future Trek timeline(s) not the past.

I've read a couple places now that Abrams is denying the Academy rumor.

The only thing that makes me happier than B&B being ditched is that bit of news!

I read somewhere when asked about the Trek rumors that he likes the established casts so maybe he will do something with them. He is being very hush hush.

Not if
Spoiler:
Lois Lane has a child, and by another man, too.
Singer has really jumped the shark with this one. It's a shame, as I had high hopes when I first read of his involvement. I really liked the X-Men movies.

Yes,
Spoiler:
she has a child with another man
after Superman leaves the Earth for an extended sabbatical of five years. What I am curious about is, since SUPERMAN I & II take place in the late '70s, does that mean SUPERMAN RETURNS takes place in the '80s???

OK, the Star Trek news just got a lot more exciting. JJ Abrams and possibly OLD Kirk and/or Spock? Bring it on!

We could see Kirk and Spock comparing different intergalactic hotels. The possiblities are endless!

P.S. If Abrams is going to stick to what's been established in other films, there is no old Kirk. That ribbon thing sucked him up, remember?

That's nothing the judicious use of time-travel can't fix.

Actually, Kirk's "echo" is still "alive" in the Nexus. Always has been. Just ask Guinan!

Not Star Trek XI related, but I saw this at IMDb and thought it was funny. They're running a daily poll on which Star Trek main character is the studliest. The current results are as follows:

Capt. Jean-Luc Picard 2023 (26.2%)
Capt. James T. Kirk 2017 (26.2%)
Cmdr. William T. Riker 1126 (14.6%)
Mr. Spock 803 (10.4%)
Capt. Jonathan Archer 784 (10.2%)
Capt. Benjamin Lafayette Sisko 614 (8.0%)
First Officer Chakotay 342 (4.4%)

I'm not sure what's worse, than Picard is winning, or that Scott Bacula actually got 10%+ of the votes and still has less votes than Spock. It's a good thing they didn't have to go up against Geordi.

The correct answer is Riker, of course.

I think a great film would be a war between all of Kirk's fatherless half-alien kids and Riker's. They're all bitter and pissed like David, except they're not all pussies. Think of the possibilities!

I say undo the Kirk killing and finish the series the way it should be finished. With Kirk and Spock and maybe Picard and Riker. Give us a fitting end or at least a fitting way to pass the baton. No flashbacks or recasts.

I can't remember the exact method, but Kirk was brought back in the novels by the Romulans, kinda like one of Dune's ghola's. It was explained well enough that I bought it, so I'm sure it would work for Hollywood.

Nobody is discussing the Ben Affleck rumor?

I was kind of excited about Trek 11 until this . . . I'm actually pretty horrified at this.

The Ben rumor is horrible so is the idea of anyone playing Kirk except Shatner.

But isn't he about the same age as Shatner was during TOS? How could he be a young Kirk?

Sure, why not. Damon could be Spock. He'd look great in the ears. Johnny Knoxville for Bones, Beyonce as Uhura, John Cho as Sulu, Jason Statham in Engineering, and Peter Stormare for Chekov. Oh, and Dakota Fanning as Nurse Chapel.

Tom Cruise should definitely play a Klingon.

Which brings up an important question. If they do a prequel, will the Klingons have ridged foreheads?

The trick is this:
Is it possible to make a Star Trek movie and get non-Star Trek fans to go see the film? I don't know if it's possible at this point. They would have to get David Fincher or put kung fu in the movie to get people to come....Or what could Star Trek do with an R-Rating, anything interesting? More T and A?
