Here is the Joker's extended "better class of criminal" clip.

And this one puts to the rest the whole 'Nolan can't direct a fight scene' argument.

Yeah, I noticed that! That should put to rest the complaints of the quick cutting from the BB...

I hope there's a better example, since that was hardly a riveting fight sequence.

When it's warranted, sure. That fight scene's way too slow. It looks like they're rehearsing.

Some complain the first you can't see and it's too hectic. This one is way too slow. Honestly - to each his own, but I like it. In fact, I love it. It's the best fighting Batman we've ever seen on the big screen.

Eh, I could just as easily say there's always someone who has to be an apologist and think everything's great.

I'm glad i'm not the only one that thought the fight was slow.

I watched them. The fight scene looks more realistic to me.

http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/06/27/...e-selling-out/

WOW. Fandango is reporting that dozens of showtimes for The Dark Knight are already sold out for the midnight screenings on Thursday night/Friday morning, July 17th. That’s right, even with a full three weeks before the film hits, screenings have begun to sell out. A few theaters have begun to add 3:00am showtimes on Friday morning to help meet the consumer demand.

Update: As of June 27, “Dark Knight” has sold eight times as many tickets on MovieTickets.com as “Spider-Man 3″ at the same point in the sales cycle — 21 days from the film’s official release. “Spider-Man 3″ is the No. 10 film on MovieTickets.com’s Top-10 Performing Films of All-Time.

Its a better fight scene, than the quick cuts in BB. Batman as a fighter has to be quick and brutal. I remember one artist said he saw him as a Jeet Kune Do fighter like Bruce Lee, looking for the quickest way to break something and end the fight.

Damn, I need to get some tickets

I'm just not sure what there is to complain about. They broke away from the first movies quick editing and when this way and it's effective.

To each his own tho'.

Comic Book Resources review. Not many spoilers, just tons of praise about the Joker, and how dark and frightening the film is:

This is probably the best line from the review posted above

"The Dark Knight" continues the ethos established in "Batman Begins." By sticking to a "real interpretation" of the material and characters, mainstream audiences see the true spirit comics fans have always known them to contain. Gone are the days of day-glo villainy. Bat-credit cards and ice skates are a dim memory or fever dream. Instead, the serious undertones of those garish and outlandish four-color ideas are laid bare in their darkest, terrifying forms.
I can't wait! I picked up my tickets already for the IMAX showing, but it's on the Sat after the movie comes out so will have to try to steer clear of this thread for at least a day.

You know it is kind of funny someone had posted that. I read something like that a few days ago and said to a few co-workers "See this movie is going to be great".

Frequently, I have friends, family, or co-workers go see a comic book movie and love it. I hated Batman Begins...it just didn't work for me. The visuals were great and Bale is fantastic as Batman, but the story just did not work for me. I had said that and everyone thought I was nuts and that I didn't know Batman's comic book origins. So I inquire and you guessed it, they are all telling me about the bat-a-rang and the shark repellent. Sorry folks that ain't Batman. The Dark Knight trailer is Batman, and I am totally excited about this one.

And for the record, I have watched Batman Begins about another 10 times and my opinion has changed slightly. I think they handled the villains all wrong in the film. And I could have done without Katie Holmes, but this is a very good film.

I actually like the quick editing in Batman Begins fight sequences. It created the illusion of Batman being scary. A slow fight sequence just makes him seem too human.
Eg., I loved it in the asylum scene in Batman Begins when goons are looking around and shooting, and Batman suddenly drops down and whisks up one of the screaming goons into the shadows.

I agree, the asylum scene is very well cut. But the quick cutting in the scenes where he's fighting the guys in the jail at the beginning or Ra's thugs during the climax just worked to obscure how good of a fighter he is.

Or its just leaves it up to the imagination.
It must be extremely difficult for any fight sequences to be done in that suit.

Saw a cool TV ad tonight where Joker is holding Maggie Gyllenhaal over a ledge. Batman says "let her go" then Joker says "Hmm, poor choice of words" Then he throws her. I thought it was pretty funny. I really hope this movie doesn't have me rooting for the Joker.
