After seeing "Begins" I easily fell back on my comment.
I still think Keaton was a better Batman. He was brooding and intimidating. Bale wasn't very intimidating especially when he was all "swear to me!"

So is Keaton still a great Batman, absolutely. My personal preference though is the new Batman. It's probably just the adult in me finally happy that a good Batman movie has returned after Warner and Joel Shumacher ruined the franchise.

I like to think that Keaton played the perfect Batman for Burton's vision and Bale plays the perfect Batman for Nolan's vision. Honestly, they are both almost entirely different and if you swap the actors around, both films would suck.

I bought an old ToyBiz Batman figure a month ago, and every time I look at it, I think 'THAT'S Batman'. I was 8 when it came out so it was a nice piece of nostalgia. At the same time, there is no definitive Batman for me, because I liked Keaton, Kilmer and Bale, and they were in such different interpretations that they worked for their specific films.
I must say looking at the trailers for The Dark Knight made me say screw Nicholson and Keaton, but that was a gut reaction to watching the trailers for the first time and not a firm opinion. There's room for all...except Clooney and West. (I will never understand the love for that 1966 show. I saw every episode and the movie, and I still don't get the appeal, even for its silliness. )

Del Toro to do a Batman trilogy? I don't know about that. He's expressed interested in a lot of different projects, including a third Hellboy, and all of them will have to be put on hold due to his helming The Hobbit. I'm willing to bet he'll come out of that two-film project looking to do something closer to his heart than Batman.

I would not like de toro doing a Batman film. I don't like him doing the Hobbit, but I'm more of a fan of Bats than Tolkien.
How's this for a driector of Batman Beins 3 (Nolan 99% will be back): Chan Park-wook?

Honestly, while I like Chan Park-Wook's movies, I don't think he's that great of a director. Oldboy reminded me of a Fincher movie, but less refined (still one of my favorite flicks.)
All his movies have serious lulls and pacing issues, the other issues I tend to have probably have more to do with budget issues. That said, he does choose excellent subject matter.
Certainly not a bad one, and it'd be fun to see Bats take on a room full of weapon wielding baddies in a single shot, but I dunno.. foreign directors doing English movies have a sketchy record as of late.
One thing I think Nolan does better than just about any other director these days, is drive a story forward, nary a wasted scene in any of his flicks.
