I have been trying to avoid spoilers, as I am pumped for this movie, and I think Nolan is going to transcend the Comic Book movie genre. I feel most comic book movies are by the book and really don't offer much other then to please the CGI/Action crowd as they are usually lame on story & character development. Nolan talks in an interview about NOT using CGI, and having real locations & sets, and focusing on the Jokers/Batman struggles to be who they are and how they are outcasts. Can't wait til July 18th.

"Meanwhile, the violence is quite possibly the most intense I have ever seen in a PG-13 film, leaving myself and others wondering how The Dark Knight avoided an R."
This statement makes my day.

I can't f-ing take this anymore. Seriously, it's too much, and it's still June 30th. I've been thinking and I'm going to head up to the mountains with my friend Leopold and have him freeze me in the snow. Then on the 17th, he'll thaw me out. It's the only way I can endure the wait.

I'm going to Maine on vacation for a week, so hopefully it takes my mind off it.
I've tried to not pay any attention to it except for watching the trailers. It's worked pretty well, but the wait is just now getting unbearable.

"This movie pushed the PG-13 to the breaking point, and I’m not sure how Warner Bros. pulled it off."
But this one makes my day:
"The score by James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer is one of the year’s best..."

Alas, no such trip is available to me. I forsee a lot of drinking (my own personal type of "Staycation". This will do two things: Speed up time (in the same sort of, "it's all relative" way black holes do, or the "Schrödinger's cat" deal... When the ball rolls behind the couch it ceases to exist, and if I can't remember a stretch of time, then it passed instantaneously. (My apologies to Messieurs Einstein, Schrödinger, Hawkins, DeGrass-Tyson et all for completely misinterpruting your work to make my countdown to The Dark Knight survivable and to explain away a sudden and drastic alcoholism).

And to you as well, lad!
Although you have made me aware of a potentially fatal flaw in my plan. I'm going to have to make the roommates remind me to pull the cord on the morning of the 17th, otherwise it's entirely possible I'll show up to the midnight show three-sheets-to-the-wind, dancing in a giant bananaman costume until I either A - fall over, B - puke, or C - fall over and puke.

All these glowing reviews makes me giddy like a school girl. Not that I had any doubts after Batman Begins, but this just solidifies it.

Another glowing review...

Looks like not only is it a masterpiece in the genre, but just a masterpiece period.

Seems like every review so far has been glowing. Obviously that can change, but I can't see how this will get lower than about a 97 or 98% there.

But I think it should beat Iron Man's 93%, though the dark nature could easily turn off many more, so who knows...
