Wikipedia:
New characters include Banshee, who is a Weapon X captive. There was a cameo for a young Storm, which can be seen in the trailer, but it was cut out.

one of the trailers showed young Logan with claws (bone?) coming from his hands...i thought his claws were always a result of his adamantium fusion process and such when he was older?

Nope he forgot it in one of his mind wipes, and a little retcon in Origin, he was born with his claws (bone) as one of his mutant abilities.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
No...that was debunked when when Magneto RIPPED the adamantium from Logan's body. He later found out that his claws were really a part of him. Those shots of young Logan, aka John Howlett, are essentially a minor adaptation of Origins- Essentially the origin story for Logan.
Also..Logan's only mutant power is his healing factor...the claws are an actual part of his physiology. Which can never been taken away.
Wait: Did Gambit's pupils turn red? Wow...looks like they're really really putting a lot of detail into this.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
You know how Cyclops can shoot beams? That's his power. Wolverine is a bit different. What makes him a mutant is the healing factor and the claws. His mutant power though is the healing factor, not the claws. The claws are a physical mutation. That can't ever be taken away from him. Ex: Rogue touches Logan...she gets healing factor...not claws. The claws aren't a superpower..it's just an added mutation to his body.

It's like if you were to take a trip in Seth Brundle's teleporter, but you forgot you had brought your favorite metal dining fork with you. Then, bam, out the other side and - claws. Except then you'd have 4 claws, not 3, since most forks have 4 prongs. And - wait - only claws on one hand because you only brought along one fork ... and I've gone cross-eyed!

Re: Wolverine - Solo
This is what is listed at IMDB in the runtime field "97 min (heavily cut)" .
I thought this looked good but my instinct tells me that no way in hell will this film work at that length.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
I guess what I'm trying to say is that with mutants Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were just trying to come up with a way for people to have powers that didn't require an origin story.
They weren't trying to figure out it would work with genetics, I'm pretty sure their thought process was "Laser eyes! Done. Next!"
I just brought up Storm because controlling the weather is probably the power that makes the least sense to be related to genetics.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
I don't have source, but I vaguely recall an interview with Chris Claremont where he expressed regret for giving Storm those powers. He admitted that it doesn't make sense and that she's ridiculously too powerful (although not many comic writers exploit that fact). Personally, of all the main X-Men characters, her powers bug me the most.
Worst power definitely the Blob though, that takes the cake.

Collider - Star Trek & X-Men Origins: Wolverine Runtimes
Well, it looks like Wolverine is going to be exactly 2 hours long. Much better than the rumored 90 minutes.
