Re: Wolverine - Solo

That sucks, but I still have faith it will look ok in the movie. Of course, I never cared that much about Deadpool but I can see why fans would be pissed since he doesn't have the trademark suit.

OH that's so fucking stupid. All this time I was wondering who the fuck that was in the trailer jumping around. Goddamn it. It was so perfect and then this happened.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Looks like most or all of the tv spots have been removed by Fox on youtube. I don't get that, once it's been on tv, doesn't it promote the movie more to have someone watch it on youtube who missed it on tv/doesn't watch live tv (ads)? Or is it something where they have the tv spots hosted at fox.com and want you to visit their site? I'm not able to check as I'm at work.

They're on the Yahoo Movies site. I'm guessing Yahoo paid a small fee for them to have the exclusive rights.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

I lost 95% of my interest and enthusiasm for this when i saw an interview a week or two ago with that Lauren shuler-donner chick and she said the movie is "well under two hours".
Yeah, just what we need cause we know how successful short superhero movies are.

And we all know how stupid this nitpick of yours is. Unless it's under 90 minutes or something, it's not really a major concern. The first X-Men movie was under 2 hours.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Was it? hmm... *checking*...104 mins. guess you're right. I like films of this nature to be 2 hrs. usually cuz they do tend to be big. Honestly though, looking back at X-Men it's pacing was slower than X2's and it was shorter. Ebert said something of this nature: No bad film can be too short and no good film can be too long. Length is irrelevant as long as it's quality is good.

Given the "spinning ninja" footage (which early rumours claimed was the as yet unseen Weapon XI) and probably the toy are from before pickups were shot to give Ryan Reynolds more screentime, perhaps that's Deadpool before he starts wearing his trademark costume and loads up on guns.

Remember the trailer analysis that was linked a few pages ago? Cyclops being in this is nothing new. We also know Storm, Juggernaut, and a few others appear in their pre-X-men/Brotherhood days.

It seems this film implies that many mutants owe their freedom to Wolverine and he doesn't even remember it.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

From another board, this is what the back of the Deadpool toy says...

Spoiler:
Deadpool was transformed by William Stryker to be the ultimate mutant. He is a monster with a single purpose, to serve Stryker's will. He is an indestructible weapon with no vulnerability and his first target is Wolverine."

So apparently..

Spoiler:
Deadpool becomes Weapon XI in this film

I really hope this isn't true. I will withhold my bitchin' and moanin' until I see the film.

Yeah, Cyclops isn't a surprise. Although he looks older then I thought he was going to be in the movie. It'll be interesting how these encounters are "forgotten" later on.

Well that sucks.
Spoiler:
I hope in the end Wolverine doesn't kill him and Deadpool ends up the Merc with a Mouth we all know and love.

Meh. He probably falls out of a plane and gets a bump to the noggin. Or we find out that Charles Xavier didn't just mess with Jean's mind but that he also mindwiped Scott.

How do we know that Scott didn't remember Logan? He never says, "Gee, professor, who is this strange man?" Just because they don't acknowledge each other doesn't mean they don't have a history.

Yeah, I know this is splitting some damn fine hairs, but given the unholy mess these X movies are turning out to be, Cyke and wolvie acting like long lost buds is pretty low on my list of shit to worry aboot.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Honestly, after the Star Wars Darth Vader-C3PO-Obi-Wan debacle, Wolverine and Cyclops not remembering seems minor.

What other messes have there been? I can't think of any major continuity issues between movies.

it has always been a PG-13 movie. why would you even care how long it was since you know that rating will make it a shit movie.

There are movies that are meant to be PG-13 and ones meant to be R. I would never expect anything other than a PG-13 rating for a Batman film or an X-men film. Some genres and specific franchises are perfectly fine as PG-13.
There are movies that are short that in all honestly should not be short. Comic book movies need to be around 2 hours at least to work in my experience watching them,. Its not because it is short per se. Its because a comic book or a big-budget movie that tries to cram and rush 2 and a half hours of story in 95 minutes is gonna feel like all style and no substance.

I think he means comics vs. movies. Asside from constant recasting of minor characters, there aren't any major continuity issues I can think of.

So Deadpool can steal powers now and shoot lasers out of his eyes. Good to know, thanks Fox.

Looks action-packed. Entertaining.

I didn't know Cyclops was going to be in this one.
