Is that a pod-racer engine I see (pics 5 and 15, and possibly a wrecked racer in 17)?

Spoiler:
Because obviously the huge explosion of his sail barge did not kill him (assuming you are being sarcastic though?) There are of course more Hutts than just Jabba in his family. So maybe one that is bent on revenge over the death of a relative?

Hmm. Interesting if a Hutt has a part. It was kind of nice to see the Hutts at the pod race in TPM, minus the tongue stretch.

Looks like Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) are officially part of the cast now.

I don't watch GoT, but I remember GoT threads in TV Talk with a pic of a woman in a blue dress. Was that Christie?

I am really loving the look of the practical sets.

If they bring back the Hutts, I would guess Lupita WON'T be cast as one of their slaves

Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games, and now Star Wars. Damn, Christie's on quite a roll.

Glad to see the Lupita Nyong'o rumors were true, too.

Brienne of Tarth brandishing a lightsabre. Darth Maul would shit his pants at the mere sight.

Or maybe she just plays Chewbacca's wife.

I'm sure you've Googled her by now but this is her. She seems like a nice person.

This could be Superman Returns all over again if Abrams and company keep on getting reminded by the fans that these new films HAVE to resemble the OT. (There's already a bit of backlash in this thread regarding the overuse of Tatooine)
I just fear that the chance for something new & inventive in these films will slip away.

Reminds me of a funny tweet I just saw:

The 'Episode' movies will most likely follow the formula from previous films - group of friends/jedi band together to fight against a new enemy. The 'spin-off' films I imagine will be able to change that up a bit.

I agree with spending too much time and effort being reverent to previous moments, etc. A little of that is nice, but hopefully the story and new material is strong enough that it isn't relying on those things.

I really hope Nyong'o is not playing the black granddaughter of Obi-Wan as previously rumored. I was also pulling for the unknown Richardson-Sellers to land one of the two remaining female roles. Still, I can't complain -- Lupita is a pretty sweet addition.

I haven't seen Game of Thrones, so I'm not familiar with Gwendoline. I wonder if her height will factor in to the role she'll be playing. I wouldn't want to cross her path if she was wielding a lightsaber.

Wow, Christie is 6'3". And she is so pretty, too. So it's a given that she'll play a baddie?

I agree with the person that said it feels almost like too much fan service. Episode 7 will be huge, but the ones offs could tank bad, especially the Bounty Hunter one.

I think it's time to just retitle the franchise Tatooine Wars. Hey at least George Miller could pop in for some tagalong reshoots for Fury Road or something.

I agree, it's about nostalgia. No way Luke and co. would want to hang around Tatooine three decades on. It's possible Han has connections there and the new crew need assistance with something or other... but that would still be shoehorning it in.

From The National article (which mentioned a crater being built) and the set photos (which show a fire w/ tons of black smoke), I'm guessing the hero's ship crashes in the desert.
