How do we even know Skywalker isn't a really common name like Smith or Jones? There could be a million Skywalkers in the galaxy.

What seemed odd with the first set that TMZ posted, there were extras posing for the camera, so it wasn't like it was hidden from them. Why would they not report someone unauthorized walking around taking set pics? Or maybe they were authorized and they were "leaked" to TMZ?

Don't get it. If he is hiding, Tatooine seems the worst place to hide.

I will say I like the perception (could be wrong) that pysical sets will trump CGI where possible.

It's funny. I remember the leaked "set" videos from the prequels. "Ooh! Blue screen!"

Look at how far we've come, boys.

Disagree. The last thing the SW movies need is hype and any Project Leader wants his stuff hidden until he's ready to reveal it. JJ doesn't want anything to leak but eventually it all will. There are too many people involved to protect that much info 100% of the time.

I figure Luke's in Tatooine shooting the shit with Ghost Kenobi, Ghost Yoda and Ghost Dad. Oh and Ghost Qui-Gon, who you figure probably could've been useful in the OT.

If people still think that the prequels didn't have plenty of actual sets, check out this link: http://furiousfanboys.com/2014/05/th...-green-screen/

I can't speak for others, but it wasn't only the digital sets that bothered me (and those didn't really bother me that much) - it was Lucas directing actors to work with things and people who weren't there and getting poorer performances because of it.

Whatever is wrong with the CG overload in Peter Jackson's films, at least he has thesps tops enough to work well with imaginary stuff, or he directs them well. Lucas? Not so much.

I'm assuming we'll get a similar mix of CGI and practical effects that JJ used in his two STAR TREK movies...which seemed like the proper balance. Of all the complaints I've heard about his TREK films, over-CGI'd isn't one of them. The fact that he got away with a character like Keenser, which is basically just a guy in a rubber mask, shows JJ's fondness for character over fancy F/X.

Keenser? Was that the name of Deep Roy's character?

Something that many people noticed back in the day, but Vader took charge and went after EVERYTHING himself, except he never set foot on Tatooine despite how important those DS plans were.

ANH: Went looking for Ben in the Death Star/ Got himself a Tie Fighter and went after the rebels.
TESB: Went down to Hoth personally. Went with the Star Destroyers into the asteroid field after the Falcon. Went to Bespin to trap Luke ...
ROTJ: Went down to Endor to confront Luke.

Seems Ben knew him enough to realize he would not set foot on Tatooine again.
