You know, I once stumbled across an honest-to-god brother-sister incest video on a porn site. The couple looked far more like that than Cersei and Jaime.

So new rumor is that Daisy's character is living in a downed AT-AT. Which planet?

They had the foot prop in Abu Dhabi, so (if the rumor is true) she lives on Tatooine or a similar desert planet.

Cool pictures and interesting rumors. I'm really starting to feel the hype for Star Wars once again at this point which I didn't think I'd say again after so many years of indifference because of all of Lucas' shit. I'm not a huge fan of Abrams necessarily but I'm just so glad that Lucas isn't involved and that we're getting a fresh perspective on the franchise while still bringing back familiar elements from the original trilogy. I think I'm more excited for this than Age of Ultron at this point.

One red flag that is popping up for me is that it might be too similar to ANH.

Also not liking that it looks like we're going back to Tattoine for a sixth time.

I don't mind Tattooine again. I kind of like the concept of some dusty jerkwater planet burdened by fate (or some other higher power) that habitually causes it to play a pivotal role in the affairs of the galaxy.

Don't mind the idea of revisiting planets - hell, they've tried every "atmosphere" of planet so far: Snow, water, jungle, gas, sand that they're probably out of options... as long as the new movies take a darker role, I'll be happy.

That's what I've been saying!

1. I like that this outer rim nothing-of-a-planet appears to be the nexus of the universe. It reminds me of how the early Harry Potter films seem to revolve around everything happening in the girls' lavatory. Tatooine is just one of those places that collects a wide variety of energies all trying to hide away but get sucked right into it all.

2. And of course, perhaps that energy we call The Force is involved in this somehow. If the Force can be so strong in that cave on Degobah (and I recall there was speculation that's what helped Yoda hide there) is it possible it's the same with Tatooine and that's why Ben and now Luke could hide there? It strikes me that maybe the Force, like greatness, etc. appears in the places people least expect it.

3. Finally, in a film series where the characters could literally fly anywhere in the galaxy, where the heroes are on the run hiding on Yavin then Hoth then simply as a fleet, in a galaxy where whole planets get taken over or blown up, Tatooine is home. Tatooine is the closest semblance to "home" we get in any of these movies and I think that counts for something.
Slop can't get there, though:

It also invalidates what made the place relevant to Luke's character in IV. It was a backwater, "flyover" planet. The whole point was our main character wanted to get away from there, because the galaxy had greater adventures to offer. But whatever; the Star Wars galaxy and it's planets are just as nuanced as levels out of a Super Mario Bros. game.
Your part about Luke (and Anakin) wanting to get away from there is central to the theme of family and heritage and roots. Try to escape, but you can't. It's still a part of who you are.

But c'mon, who's with me and TGM?!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015, D: Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Serkis, von Syd

Devin from Badass Digest claims to know who Max von Sydow is playing. With the similarities to the "Star Wars Legacy II" comic, it will be interesting to see if any of this storyline turns out to be true.

http://badassdigest.com/2014/10/01/e...idley-live-an/

Spoiler:
Remember that I told you the movie begins with the discovery of the lightsaber? Well, it isn't Daisy Ridley who discovers it but rather a blue alien guy. He brings it to a salvage yard where Kira - that seems to be what Ridley's character's name is, or at least what they're calling her on set - sees it. She's hanging out there with von Sydow, who is an old cyborg dude, a guy who maybe has dementia. He talks a lot of nonsense. But as soon as that lightsbaber shows up, he gets lucid. He recognizes it. He begins to talk about the old days, name drops a couple of Prequel Trilogy characters, even. And then, after Kira and the alien leave he makes a call to a mysterious figure. "It's here," he says. But who is he calling?
The report also claims the Greenham Common location is Yavin IV.

Hmm, I think many of us thought Max would be playing some ancient Sith.

Cool about Yavin.

He still could be. There's nothing in that spoiler that wouldn't fit a Sith.
Spoiler:
The "mysterious figure" he calls makes me think it could be another Sith that he is calling. Either that or maybe he is calling The Collector to sell the lightsaber to him. GOTG/Star Wars crossover!

That's obviously Hamill's head 'shopped onto Guinness' body.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015, D: Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Serkis, von Syd

MakingStarWars.net is posting a ton of rumors lately, not all of it sounding promising:

Spoiler:
- The guy who runs the site mentioned on TheForce.net message boards that Ridley's character has a moment of looking out longingly at the twin suns, just like Luke in the original film. Not a bad throwback moment, except for the fact that these rumors seem to indicate the movie contains dozens of them. Create your own iconic scenes, Abrams!

- There is an alien sidekick (Andy Serkis' character?) that is described as looking kind of like the "Station!" dude from Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, only wearing a kimono with a towel on his head. Not sure I like the sound of that. Hopefully it doesn't speak with an offensive asian/middle eastern accent.

- There is also a new astromech-type droid, only shorter than Artoo and "sad looking".

MAJOR SPOILER ON THE ENDING (if true)...

Spoiler:
- Ridley's character discovers that Luke Skywalker is an evil cyborg (I assume the one from the concept art IndieRevolver posted) and the writer speculates she could end up joining him by the end of the film. I swear, if Episode VII ends with Luke pulling the "I am your father" reveal on Daisy's character, I'm out. This sounds like some lazy-ass retread shit to me.

- The report also speculates that Hamill's beard could have been a ruse to throw people off to the fact that we don't see his face in the movie. I know rumors have hinted that Luke has changed and saves the day "in a bad way" at the end (whatever that means), but none of this is sounding kosher to me. Unless Luke has some sort of agenda and is just pretending to be evil, these "spoilers" make him out to be a damn dirty liar:

The SW-to-ST comparison shots were hilarious.

Having a prosthetic hand does not make one a cyborg. Cyborg stands for cybernetic organism. It takes much more than just a hand to become a cyborg. Something like Vader once he became more machine than man is what a cyborg would be. Or Robocop.
