all this Fox Fanfare talk got me thinking about one of my favorite fanfare tracks (Mark Mancina, Speed 2):

I got used to the idea of a Fox-free Star Wars way back in the late 90s when the PT was up for grabs. We coulda had a Star Wars logo with the Dreamworks logo 16 years ago.
Furthermore, the fanfare also signals the beginning of "Dude, Where's My Car?" and even the LucasFilm LTD card could announce the coming of "Radioland Murders."
No, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...." truly marks the second that you're undeniably watching a Stur Wurs. Can't say I'll lose much sleep worrying about what comes before that.

Is the trailer premiering online Wednesday or Thursday? I thought it was on Thursday, but then I read on Twitter that it would be online tonight at 6PM?

^ Not sure where that came from, but I can't imagine they would release it before the Celebration panel tomorrow. Hopefully it will be included in the live stream as well.

I took the Twitter post with a grain of salt, as people throw so much shit out there you never know who to believe.

A possible (bad) audio recording of the trailer, which I suppose they would be prepping in the showroom today. You can hear the "Chewie, we're home" line at the end... could be legit.

It's a pretty integral part of the experience, to deny it is pretty crazy.

I certainly see no reason why it can't be attached. Just license the music and put it under whatever new logo they want to use. Trying anything new at this point is going to sound wrong simply because it is unfamiliar, even if it's a great piece of music.

Lucas' original vision was to not have the fanfare at the beginning.

It's you Leia
My father has it
I have it
My sister has it
You have that power too
Interesting they would open a trailer with that dialogue, considering the spoiler reports have revealed zip about Leia using the Force in any significant way.

The fanfare is so much a part of the films that it's been included on every Star Wars soundtrack release of the last 20 years. I can't think of a single other film score soundtrack that includes the logo fanfare of any studio.

Or by "Star Wars" soundtrack, are you just referring to the original film?

....Why would a Disney put the Fox logo on their film? Fox has fuck all to do w/ these new films. It may just be a Lucasfilm logo to start it off and then the crawl. We don't need the Fox thing anymore.
We SHOULD have the Fox logo on the films that had it in the SW series. Cuz that's film history they're fucking with.
But the new ones? Fuck no.

Can't wait for the trailer to drop only so this stupid FOX fanfare conversation goes away. Get over it.

Believe it's from the program for the SW Celebration convention that's just now getting underway in Anaheim. Should be seeing a ton of new stuff out of there during the next few days.

Hahaha.. Thinking it will go away. The .005 second Greedo shoots first has caused bitching for 18 years now and the Fox fanfare being removed will only be complained about for a few weeks? Nope, prepare for a few decades of epic descriptions how Disney raped whatever part of the childhood that Lucas somehow missed.
