Either Cumberbatch's character yells out "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" or I will be getting a refund after the film ends at the box office.

It's all speculation at this point, but it's still kinda fun when random tidbits pop up. For instance:
Liam McIntyre of Spartacus: War of the Damned reportedly told an interviewer that he read for a Jedi role.
Also, Ksenia Solo (and that's actually her name, not the character's) from the series Lost Girl is rumored to have went in for Han and Leia's daughter. Both of these reports came from a website I've never heard of called Jedi News.
There appears to be another casting call taking place in New York, but this time they're only looking for three of the seven roles mentioned on that casting sheet from June. I'm guessing the other four parts have been cast or they already have strong candidates in mind. Anyway, they are still looking for a teenage girl (likely the female lead) who is "independent with a great sense of humor" and two males in their 20s (one "handsome, but not necessarily heroic", the other "handsome and confident"). The original casting sheet described the first male as "not traditionally good-looking", but it seems they upped the role requirements to include "handsome" status as well. Shallow, shallow Disney.

So canon wise that comic series will be a couple steps below Ewoks, the Holiday Special and the big green rabbit from the original Marvel series, see you later Dark Horse.

Canon or not, the KOTOR comic series was awesome.
There are things the movies have taken from the comics and novels. The double-bladed lightsaber, for example, was used in the Tales of the Jedi comic series several years before Darth Maul showed up on the big screen. Some EU characters, such as Aurra Sing and Ki Ad Mundi, have also made appearances in the movies. Palpatine mentions to Anakin in ROTS that he knows the secret to immortality, which is a subtle hint towards the Dark Empire comic series.

That doesn't make those comics or novels canon. The movies and the TV show are the only things considered "canon."
However, the comics have their own continuity, and this new comic is clearly not meant to fit into that, or really any form of "canon." It's a look at an alternate version of the original film

There was the Star War Infinities comic that was a "what if Luke failed to destroy the first Death Star."
There was also a long-running ongoing series called Star Wars Tales that featured a lot of alternate stories as well. One of my favorites was Skippy the Jedi Droid in which it was revealed that the droid Luke's uncle almost bought until it malfunctioned was actually a jedi. The droid realized that it was destiny for R2-D2 to be chosen instead so it sacrificed itself.

It's not supposed to be 'canon' in any way. It's based on George Lucas' first draft of the "Star Wars" script. Think of it as a restoration of an old artifact.

Okay, this is a new one:
http://www.theforce.net/story/front/...ors_153986.asp
It seems Lucasfilm has an online feedback site and is requesting fan opinion on the Rachel Hurd-Wood and Alex Pettyfer rumors.
I'm not registering to their site, but here are my two cents if any Lucasfilm employee happens to read this thread: Yes to her, no to him.

If there's one thing Lucasfilm is known for it's using feedback from its fans.

Did some research and discovered the feedback site is an invitation only deal. Lucasfilm apparently solicit people through Twitter and Facebook to take part and then have them commit to a non-disclosure agreement. I'm guessing they only want opinions from consumers who are suckling the company teat, not your average jaded fanboy.

Point being, anyone with a negative or cynical view of the brand would likely not be asked to join the focus group. I completely understand the reasoning. They probably have employees whose job it is to scour Twitter and message boards to gauge general opinion -- which is why it seems very strange (given the secrecy of the project) they would flat out ask for feedback regarding potential casting choices.
StarWars.com had a community message board that I frequented back in the day. As I recall, it had it's fair share of articulate and level-headed members. If Lucasfilm really wanted feedback from their loyal fanbase, having an official forum would have been the perfect resource... but it looks like they did away with it for some reason.
