This movie is sounding more and more like a live action remake of Justice League: War. I bet Aquaman appears in a mid-credits teaser.

WTF is the budget going to be on this? The cast alone has to be astronomical? At some point it's going to be impossible to make a profit on these things.

They haven't really cast anyone who would command any real money other than maybe Affleck.

According to wikipedia, the Avengers budget was $220 million. That's a pretty normal budget for big blockbusters, and it has a cast similar to this. Days of Future Past was also $200 million.

Makes sense considering Justice League: War was an animated adaptation of the the New 52 comic book origin story of the Justice League. Although I doubt DC will blow their wad and use Darkseid this early. He's going to be the big bad, like Thanos in the MCU, that will only be briefly seen until much later.
Kinda like how the Final Crisis issues where all over the place, jumping from one action scene to the next, but the actual plot was found in the comic tie-ins.

Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones) will reportedly play Aquaman.

He's got Namor's scowl down pat!

He definitely would have made an awesome Namor.
I plan to make a cameo in the eventual Justice League Europe movie.
I saw all of these other heroes getting movie roles and contacted my agent.

I thought Universal had the Namor movie rights. I looked on wikipedia to be sure, and apparently in August 2013 Kevin Feige said that is still true, but then more recently Borys Kit said that the rights have gone back to Marvel. I have no idea who Kit is, but I think I would trust Feige more on this.

This is ridiculous. Aquaman should be a blonde hair blue eyed character like the comic version!

At this point they really should remove Batman V Superman from the title and just stick with the Dawn of Justice moniker.
The only reason Batman's name is in there is to get more people's asses in the seats.

It's clear they had to go this way to make "that guy whose superpower is to talk to fishes" palatable to the sneering 14yr olds (in emotional maturity if not body).
Makes sense to make him the most physically dominating of all of them.
But for all intents and purposes, he's going to be essentially Namor here.

I like Jason Momoa but I think Aquaman is the stupidest superhero imaginable. Talks to fishes? C'mon, how lame can you get??

C'mon Davey...you're not using your imagination.
I'm sure the Aquaman Synder and Goyer do will be angry and mean-spirited enough to finally make people go " wow...they finally made him cool!" "yeah, who'd a thought it"

Spoiler:

You repeat this shit all the time, and it gets really old really fast.
You should change your avatar to a grumpy old man sitting on the porch shaking your cane at all the kids to get off your lawn. That's exactly the impression I get when I read your nonsense.
We get it. You wish comics were still like they were when you were a kid reading them in the 1950s. You have rose-colored nostalgia glasses and think everything old was so much better.
There definitely are still some "fun" comics today. For example, the comic scans above show a lighthearted poke at the public perception of Aquaman. "Dark and edgy" may be the majority, but it's not how EVERY comic is.

If I'm not mistaken, his old avatar was of a grumpy looking old man wearing a bowler.

I don't know if it qualifies as irony but the context of this characters appearance is that he's pissed off about what the world engine did to the eco system of the Indian Ocean.
And- in that context- I actually have no problem with a usually lighter portrayed character being surly and angry. It makes narrative sense and it flows out of consequences from the first film...which is a good thing.
So I wasn't really being facetious when I made the crack about Aquaman being palatable because he'll be (yet another) angry bad ass. That's exactly the way they are going to go with him and I do think that plus the fact he'll be used sparingly, will make him seem much cooler than most people expect.
