I don't read comics, so I'm not sure if this is one of Aquaman's powers already, but can he manipulate the water or is it just the animals in the water? if not, ret-con the character with the ability to control/move water and he'd be pretty awesome.

That is not actually Aquaman. That is Sea King.

Sea King is the Earth-3 version of Aquaman that first appeared at the end of the New 52 crossover event called Trinity War. Earth-3 in the New 52 is "the home of true evil" and so the Earth-3 Justice League is evil.

Look. I liked it too but Jesus titty fuckin' Christ is that script a piece of shit. Goyer is a shit writer. The film has no soul cuz it's Snyder. It's all top notch tech in audio and visual but its narrative had a lot of good ideas going for it but sadly not a real brain to execute them.

Otherwise I admire it more for what it attempted to do than what it actually did.

Technically he can't. Syfy is owned by Universal. But supposedly Universal has Namor... And he can be a Sea King. So Namor could have made Sharknado happen and Aquaman is just a loser copying Namor's greatness in creativity?

Unless Aquaman has an association with Universal in which Namor didn't create Sharknado but Aquaman did in his association with Universal. That's possible.

You do realize that most superheroes have a doppelganger counterpart that is a supervillain, right? The ones I listed before (Bizarro, Venom, Man-Bat) are just a few examples. This isn't anything new.

Going by your logic, female counterparts of male superheroes are also the same. So Supergirl is Superman. She-Hulk is Hulk. Batgirl is Batman. And so on.


Sea King is an entirely different person with some similarity...

Anyone back on a non nerd debate. I'm looking forward to this casting choice. I think Mamoa fits the role perfectly and would bring great screen presence to it. Though I think it's kinda weird that Superman is going to be smaller than basically everyone else in the cast.
