Maybe Momoa will slim down much the same way that Gadot has bulked up.

I knew as soon as Aquaman was mentioned we'd get the usual defense that Aquaman is supposedly cool now Looking forward to seeing him control water! Go Sea Man!

I'm surprised we haven't gotten a thread title change with S: Momoa instead of Gadot.

Someone please change the title to:
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Clusterfuck
avengers > MOS
I found Avengers to have more inspirational scenes and heroic moments that MOS didn't have at all. MOS is as bland as water my friend.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Clusterfuck
Wow... I can't wait to see it and for the record make a more breath-taking MOS2 with the action and intrigues that we'll find our mind blown away just as the first one did and with a little word for the haters of the MOS keep your opinions to yourselves and flush them down the toilet, MOS is better than any other superhero movie ...and that could include the avengers.

His wife Mera can control water to an extent:
From DC's site:
Mera has the unique ability to form "hard water" objects, as well as super strength and powers related to her adaptation to live under water. She has been shown to be powerful enough to control, albeit briefly, huge amounts of water, enough to pull an entire army out to sea.
From DC's site:
Aquaman is the king of all things aqua. He can breathe underwater, swim at tremendous speeds, and telepathically communicate with sea life. Being able to withstand ocean depths, he gets bonus points on land with his superhuman strength, enhanced senses, and nearly impenetrable skin.

Fun fact: When DC did the New 52 reboot back in 2011, Aquaman was in the top ten selling titles for several months straight. Marvel didn't have a single title in the top ten. That means Aquaman was outselling Spider-Man, X-Men, Avengers, etc. The streak was only broken when Marvel started the Avengers vs X-Men crossover event because events always top the sales chart.

Agreed. Aquaman has always been cool. IMO it was the Super Friends cartoon and SNL's sketches that made him 'uncool' to the public.
Plus the simple fact he is supporting 2 titles now, shows his popularity is high.

Yeah, I never in a million years would have ever thought Aquaman would be popular enough to get a second ongoing title. Heck, I don't think Wonder Woman or Flash ever had two simultaneous ongoing titles before. I think only Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern have ever had multiple simultaneous titles.

Super Friends made him pretty pathetic. Well it made them all pretty damn shitty but Aquaman became the pop culture bitch more from that from what I remember.
Thank god Bruce Timm made the JLA awesome for TV.
Because of shit like the SF is what made him, as I heard growing up, gay... Lol.

Aquaman has always been cool. Only lame people who know nothing of the character think he isn't cool.

Which is funny, as I always thought comic book fans hated that interpretation of the "hook hand" Aquaman as trying too hard to make him cooler.

If the question was instead what sports teams are cool, then you would ask a sports fan, but you wouldn't ask a comic book fan that question.
The hook hand happened in the comics too in the early 90s. Aquaman lost the ability to communicate with fish, and piranhas ate his hand. Seriously. It was better than it sounds. The writer during the early 90s was Peter David who was a very good writer.

I actually like that Aquaman.
I didn't like hook hand Aquaman either. The stories were fine for the most part but the visual was trying too hard to be cool.

Aquaman, the Scott Summers of the Justice League. A person who can handle the density of the ocean at great depths (where only Superman and maybe Wonder Woman could go).
