Good thing they cast Affleck! We thought he was the bomb in Phantoms, can't wait to see him get his Bruce Lee on!

Maybe he meant nubile?

There was an epic pillow fight, a fight over what flavor of Slusho is better, and then the Epic Silent War of '08 where neither one spoke to the other one for seven months (Supes blamed Batsy for using his special toothpaste without asking first, hilarity ensued). They've had some great fights.

I don't think the Marvel films have ever established Thor to be as powerful as Superman while on Earth. Thor was hit by a car slowly backing up and was tackled by soldiers in the first Thor movie. It doesn't seem unreasonable to think Captain America and Iron Man couldn't hold their own against him.

It's already been established in MOS that Superman is pretty much invincible to anything on Earth. The only time he was getting his ass kicked was against a group of fellow Kryptonians with similar powers.

The smartest thing WB can do now is to license The Odd Couple theme song for this new movie!

You do remember that Thor was depowered, right? He became unworthy of Mjolnir and lost the power of Thor.

Superman should rotate the Earth backwards again to make Man Of Steel never happen.

I actually forgot that. It's been a while since I've seen either Thor movie and The Avengers.

Okay. Yeah, Thor losing his power is kinda like Superman II when Superman gave up his power and then got his ass kicked by the bully at the diner.

So just how powerful is Thor supposed to be? Is he on par with Superman? They're both aliens, is Thor an alien or some kind of god?

Thor is a god. I'd say he's on par with Superman in terms of strength.

Eh. The MCU has depowered him wildly in comparison to the comics. And based on actions in the comics.... seems like Supes is stronger than Thor.

When I first saw Superman II, I thought those were super-condoms, and Superman used them when he was doing Lois.

Thor is a god in the comics, but he is an alien in the movies. The Asgardians in the movies seem to be playing on the "ancient alien" theory of aliens visiting ancient cultures such as the Vikings and the ancient cultures perceiving them as gods. I don't know why the movies went with that instead of making them be actual gods. My guess is they didn't want to offend religious people by saying Thor is a god. Everything has to be so fucking politically correct now.

Re: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) (D: Snyder; S: Gadot)

Speaking of Superman fighting a god, Superman did recently get in a fight with Apollo. (Apollo as in the Greek god of the sun, not Apollo Creed.)

Apollo bitch slaps Superman, which sends Superman flying. Then Superman comes back and punches Apollo. Apollo brings down a massive burst of energy from the sun to strike Superman. Superman laughs and says, "You really don't know much about me." Superman gets his power from yellow sunlight, so that strike just made him significantly stronger.

Which still should not have happened since the bully looked scrawny compared to Clark. Even depowered, that asskicking should not have gone down like that. The guy's buddies would have to pile on Clark all at once to take him down so easily.

Spoiler:

I haven't been following the New 52. Does Superman's armor self repair? Cos it looks broken in one panel and then just fine in the next.

This is going to potentially cause an issue when they get to Dr. Strange, Scientist Supreme.

Not at all. Just have him randomly quote Arthur C. Clarke, saying "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" or "Magic's just science that [you] don't understand yet.”

I believe it does. I haven't read much New 52 Superman either, so I'm not exactly sure what it is capable of.

Dr. Strange isn't a god, so how is he going to offend religious people?
