Like him or Hate him, Ben Affleck has grown into a pretty solid actor as well as director.

Don't know if he can pull off the raspy voice though. If they choose to go there. Bale's rasp was a little over the top.

And would it be asking to much for Ben Affleck to also direct the movie? Snyder has a great eye for visuals but he's pitiful when it comes to pacing and story coherence.

On a side note, wasn't Ben Affect going to "retire" temporarily so Jennifer Garner could return to acting while Ben Affleck performed stay-at-home dad duties?

Surprised to see that Affleck was announced as our new Bruce Wayne/Batman. I'm okay with it, he's grown a lot as an actor and filmmaker so I think he'll do fine in the role. I really didn't expect him at all though.

Yeah pretty surprised. Both by the casting and by the fact that Ben agreed to do it. He seems like he's become a "serious" actor the past couple of years with the movies he directed. Plus he constantly used to talk about how Daredevil was the worst thing he ever did in his life. Color me surprised that he accepted this.

After doing Argo, I didn't think a movie like this would interest Ben. But you know stranger things have happened. WB must have flashed a nice big check with lots of zeros in his face.

But, he's a good looking man, a lot more mature as an actor now, and most people seem to genuinely like him. I think he can pull it off.

Not a fan of this choice. Since he's a far bigger name, will Ben get first billing over Cavill even though this is ostensibly a Superman movie? Remember Schwarzenegger got top billing over Clooney in Batman & Robin, even though Clooney played Batman!

Maybe this was his price for agreeing to do a Justice League movie, he gets to be Batman.
