And the movie would be much easier to accept with a lower profile actor stepping into the role - I'd much rather see that.

Are we still going on one source? Has this been reported elsewhere (meaning a reputable site)?

I really think it'd be best for all involved - frees up his directing schedule, avoids backlash if the movie doesn't work.... it's a ton of risk with little upside for him.

What’s good fanboy nation! Did you guys peep Marvelous Dave’s hot weekly column yesterday?
He had the following to say about the two batsuits that Ben Affleck is supposed to rock in the now delayed Batman Vs Superman.
The more interesting thing I’ve heard is that Batman will actually wear 2 batsuits in the film, but where as Grey-and-Blue has already been designed and Affleck has worn it, the second Batsuit is more armored like the one in the Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come comics.
Well I got a tad more info on the armored batsuit. Now because of the ultra secretive nature surrounding the movie, it’s insanely difficult to confirm the following so take with a grain of salt until you see it for yourself in official publicity photos. More on that in a bit.
According to the source, the plating is silver/white. The plates are attached to a black undercloth. The plates doesn’t cover his entire body. We see the black undercloth at the joints. Supposedly, it looks incredible. Equally, or maybe even better-looking than the other suit and it’s leagues above and beyond Bale’s suit from what I’m told.
When can we get our first official look? I’m told you’ll see it in February/Early march.
Of course, everything is subject to change so again, salt grains. We’ll see. Speculation is fun though.

Though I frankly don't care if he's replaced...the movie is going to be bad no matter what.

This may sound odd, but I would prefer Affleck direct rather than star. I'm with JumpCutz: Affleck is a shitty actor. He may have had a few decent performances, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Anyway i just hope Cavill doesn't get fucked over because he's actually a really decent Superman and would be cool to see him grow into the role and give this character perhaps a 2nd worthy cinematic incarnation.

I think Cavill did fine. Just a meh script for the most part. At least this Superman talked a lot more than Singer's. feel bad for Routh. I think he did fine for what he had.

I felt he was one of the bright spots, and agreed that this abomination Warner Bros is stewing is really unfair for him.

That was great. Batman And Robin is a terrible movie that is enjoyable because it is terrible compared to The Dark Knight Rises which is just terrible.

No. TDKR has everything right going for it aside from narrative.
TDKR to me is like a film with set pieces that are not well connected with script.

I'm talking about TDKR. Guess I should clarify that.

I might be inclined to prefer to Batman & Robin over The Dark Knight Rises.

I think you guys are nuts if you think TDKR is demonstrably different in sophistication and quality than TDK. Everything I bitched about for years, you guys are finally seeing...but only because there is no fan favorite Joker (and a memorial performance from a promising young actor, no less) or "I can't believe they went there" Two-face to distract you to the flaws and faults.
TDKR has just as equal a quantity of the righteous and wrongheaded- probably even more so in each case. It's definitely the product of the same filmmaker.

TDK isno masterpiece but it's still better constructed than TDKR. And BB has them both beat, even if (or perhaps because) it is not as ambitious as its sequels.

TDK has probably the poorest structure to all three films. It has four acts for Pete's sake.
It muddles it's basic theme in the third act (when both the prisoners and the civilians make bravely conscious, altruistic choices) and then bludgeons us over the head at the end of the fourth act when Gordon (feet away from Dents dead body) calmly and with pompous solemnity elucidates the film's supposed themes (which we've already seen are now foolish based on the actions of characters in the previous act).
I agree with you that BB is the strongest of the three- and it might well be because it is the least ambitious.
And hey- I'm not (and never have said) that TDK doesn't have some good stuff in it. It's just that until TDKR rolled around, NO ONE wanted to acknowledge any substantial (as in things of substance) flaws with it.

TDKR takes the stupidity from TDK and amplifies it to a million. I can suspend belief to believe a man dressed like a giant bat is flying/driving all over the city fighting crime but the wiring ofthe hospital and ferry boats with explosives is just too much. Plus Harvey Dent's transformation to Two Face is even less convincing than Anakin to Darth Vader in Revenge Of The Sith. The DKNR starts out fully retarded with the opening scene of deciding to wait until you get 3000 feet into the air to take off the terrorist's hoods and then just gets dumber.
MoS isn't a good movie but it isn't on the same level of moronic as those two films. Hopefully Batman Vs. Superman is better.
I wouldn't hate these films as much as do if it weren't for people on the internet proclaiming The Dark Knight to be a masterpiece of film making. Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now, The Godfather are masterpieces. The Dark Knight is a silly comic book movie full of plot holes and contrivances.

I was backhanded complimenting TDKR.
And please note the (relative) brevity of the two prior posts.
I'm trying to get better here.
I really can't wait for Days Of Future Past to come out and have everyone reevaluate their hatred of Brett Ratner.
