They have someone in place like that. Geoff Johns is head of the media brand of DC entertainment and was supposed to be the liaison between DC and Warner's movie division and is one of the best writers in comics currently. The problem is that he doesn't have any real power and Warner isn't interested in using him. This comes down to the fact that Warner is a studio and studio executives don't typically like letting "outside" people come in and tell them how to do things.
Now by the same token, he's been involved with Arrow, and contributed to the mythology of the show(the Deathstroke mask in the pilot was his idea) and he's also written some of the episodes for the show.

They need Timm and Dini. Just look at the success of the Animated series and various films such as Return of the Joker, Redhood, Doom and Flashpoint.

I dunno. Seems like WB pissed on Dini and told him to fuck off after Arkham City. Or has he worked again with them? He did two cartoons for Marvel.

How much influence did Johns actually have though? His run on Green Lantern has been one of the best comics of the past ten years. I can't imagine that the movie would have turned out to be such a disaster if he actually had much influence over its development.

As said, he has no power. I'm sure he got them to make it but after that it sure as hell doesn't show the creativity that GJ has shown GL.

That film had nothing of what Johns has done with GL. That film was so mediocre. Like it hit all the mediocre beats.

Yeah. Wikipedia can say he was co-producer and a consultant, but that doesn't mean much. How much input did he actually have? It could be 90% or 10%. A person can give just a little bit of input and still be called a "consultant." I would assume he had very little influence over the movie because its almost nothing like what he has actually written in the comics over the last ten years.

He wrote a couple of episodes of Brave and the Bold when it was on TV. He didn't leave WB he just started getting less involved after him and Timm had their falling out, and he said he mainly worked on the Marvel toons because he wanted to try something different.

If Nicholas Winding Refn is directing, I would so pay to see that. Apparently, on a six degrees of separation note, he was interested in directing Hendricks as Wonder Woman.

People keep saying "DC needs a Kevin Feige" but he lucked out. Marvel financed all the phase one movies by themselves and they turned out to be popular. If Disney buys Marvel first before they do that Kevin Feige wouldn't even be a part of the Marvel movies and they would most likely be run similar to how Fox is doing it now.

I will be skipping the movie in theaters if that is the rumored storyline. That storyline almost certainly was cooked up by someone that has never read a DC comic book in their life. It feels like a story designed by a committee of clueless Hollywood execs and David Goyer.
