Warner Bros’ Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix is confirmed to debut at the Venice Film Festival. Venice Festival Director said today that it’s ‘darker than The Dark Knight and it’s Phoenix at the height of his powers’.

Still looks pretty good to me. I will say I think I liked the first trailer a tad more but this one still looks good. I have a feeling the part where he goes on the talk show being hosted by DeNiro’s character will be memorable.

Phoenix was 100% the right guy for this role. The only way this could be more exciting is if Bale was Batman -- if only for a small portion of this film.

I watched it without sound, as I do most trailers when not at the theater, and it looked pretty cool. Definitely unique. I'm looking forward to it.

from the feel of this trailer, i think he kills DeNiro's character on live tv.

At the time I’m sure the idea would have been shot down, but seeing Phoenix in the role it makes you wonder what if Nolan had recast The Joker after Ledger’s death. Seeing as his plan for the third film originally involved Joker coming back in some capacity. I feel like Phoenix could have stepped into the role and done it justice. It still would have been a hard act to follow though.

I wish they just would have called it something else and it could have just been about a failed comedian that goes nuts. Leave Gotham, Arkham and the Waynes our of it. This in no way resembles the Joker to me.
