What shows have you STOPPED watching?

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
After bailing on The Original's first season after a few episodes, I gave it another chance in season two. I realized the second half of this season has been boring me to tears and it's now at the point where I fast-forward much of the episode. It's getting that way with The Blacklist. The writing on that show is way down this year.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
There really haven't been too many shows that I've bailed on recently - in fact the opposite really thanks to Netflix and what thy have there. If anything I have cut down on movie watching and moved over to TV shows.
The only show that I had watched multiple seasons of that I don't watch anymore is 'Person Of Interest'. The others hows I watch I usually do via OnDemand or DVR.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
I finally pulled the plug on The Blacklist. I was really only watching it for James Spader, I never liked the plots.
I stopped watching Under the Dome last summer. I saw that is coming back this summer.
I also won't be back for the new season of Hannibal. Unlike a lot of people here, I found the last season simply painful to watch. So pretentious and overwrought. I know people love that show, but I just don't get it. I tried.
I was watching Togetherness and I realized I hated all these people and was bored. So I stopped watching that.
I am considering bailing on Madam Secretary. Although I love non-crime shows, my mind has been wandering during the last few episodes and I don't much care about the plots.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
I generally stick with a show once it draws me in. Heck, I went down with the sinking ship that was Heroes.
But I'm starting to change my mindset regarding show commitment. There are just too many good ones and only a finite amount of time.
The Blacklist - I dropped that midway through last season. Spader was fun, but the show was just blah.
Under the Dome - Loved, loved, loved the book. HATED the show and the liberties it took. Just really, really stupid. It's a shame because if it stuck to the source material and was a mini-series (NOT a "limited series" that returns each year), it could've been really great. I saw through the first season only because I had already gone that far into it, but season two easily wasn't worth my time.
American Horror Story - The first couple of seasons were batshit crazy fun, but I lost interest halfway through the current season and don't really have a desire to finish it out. The prior season with the witches was terrible and I should've dumped it then, but I saw it through. Given the nature of the show, I may give next season a try if it sounds interesting, though.
Hannibal - I liked it, but just... stopped watching. Maybe I'll catch up on season two before the third starts. There's usually not much new stuff to watch during the summer.
The Following - I tend not to waste my time "hate watching" something, but that's what I did here for two seasons. It's a bad show that was fun to rag on. My friend who also watched the show stopped, so I don't really have anyone to bitch with.
I'm debating whether or not to give this season a chance. It looks like the AV Club isn't doing recaps anymore, which is a shame because those were fun reads.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - It pains be to bail on a Marvel property, but episodes have been piling up this season and I can finally admit to myself that the show bores me. Sure, it got a little better with the Captain America 2 tie-in, but honestly, it never lived up to its promise. I may check back in from time to time if there's another big crossover with the movies.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
I watched The Big Bang Theory up until last season. I just found it more annoying than funny and I don't really miss it.
I dropped Marvel Agents of SHIELD after a few episodes of season one. I decided to catch up after I heard it improved and watched it up to this latest break, but don't think I'll come back. I felt it was OK, but never feel really motivated to tune in. It's weird, I feel I should like the show more than I do.
Brooklyn 99 is another one I'm probably dropping. I felt the first season ended stronger than it began, but this season doesn't seem to be improving and I find Andy Samberg's character overbearing and unfunny 90% of the time.

I'm close to dropping Walking Dead. This season has been beyond awful. It's like a soap opera with the occasional moving corpse. Oh, and the dead people.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
I bailed on Mad Men last year. I know its the final season and I probably will watch the final episodes at some point, but the series just has gone way downhill and is a borefest most of the time if you ask me. I was already starting to get sick of it in season six to be honest.
I'm close to dropping The Big Bang Theory or at least waiting until the seasons finish and watching them all at one time rather than week to week. This season has just been very weak if you ask me and I've found myself backed up on recordings on my DVR and usually watch it in like two or three episode blocks. It just hasn't been appointment tv for me this season.
Also Family Guy is getting pretty close too. I still like it on occasion but a lot of the times it just tries too damn hard to be edgy and whatever that it just comes off so stupid, gross, disturbing, or fucked up that I don't even find it funny. I like American Dad! way more of the MacFarlane shows on the air.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
(Hey I started this thread!)
Recent drops (this season/recently)
SNL - Dropped and not missed
Sons Of Anarchy (Binge watched most of it, but really lost interest towards end, wife watched rest without me)
Tried to get into Better Call Saul but removed the season pass and might try again once the season is done.
Did about 10 episodes of House of Cards and stalled (I will resume this one)

Regardless of how you felt about the first 5 episodes of Better Call Saul, last night's episode (Five-O) is a must watch. It was almost more of a Breaking Bad episode than a spinoff.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
Big Bang Theory has been absolute garbage since its departure from smart geek comedy to bad couples comedy in the last few years. I bailed on it after about 5 shows this season. I regret not bailing on it 2-3 yers ago.
Bernadette & Amy killed the show.

I am very close to bailing on SHIELD and The Following. It's pretty obvious to me that SHIELD is direly missing Joss Whedon and that ABC holds huge sway over the direction of that show. This new season of The Following has been predictably boring and now resembles every other FBI hunts serial killers show ever made.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
I quit Smallville at about season 4. I gave up on Family Guy (with occasional returns for one-off episodes) after an episode where Peter hacked up a cat with a razor. Violence against animals doesn't bother me much in entertainment, but that just seemed needless.

I gave up on Agent Carter after 3 episodes... still DVR'ed but Marvel overkill is setting in. Not even really that thrilled out the new movie. I mean I will see it but meh.

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?
Shows that are still on the air that I watched for more than a season would include Modern Family (stopped last season), Glee (stopped halfway through season 3), The Simpsons (stopped halfway through season 20), New Girl (stopped halfway last season), Person of Interest (at the end of season 2), Two Broke Girls (stopped halfway through season 2), and SHIELD (at end of 1st season).
Thanks for asking!

I gave up on Agent Carter too. I liked the episodes I watched (I believe I only watched the first two, maybe three). It isn't so much that Marvel overkill is setting in for me, but I haven't found their shows that great thus far. Hopefully the upcoming Netflix shows they're doing will be better.

I finally threw in the towel for Falling Skies. Watched the last season premier and just couldn't care. I think it's because of the time jumps.
Hasn't watched American Horror Story this season, not sure if I will.
Heavily debating dropping Under the Dome. It's just... Uhg.
Too many shows I enjoy to keep watching stuff I don't.

During 2011, I picked up the dvd sets of the first four seasons and found them to be outstanding. At the time, I was anxiously waiting for season 5 to come on.
Though by the time the show came back on in 2012 for season 5, I was wondering if I was still even watching the same show. (Season 5 was kinda boring in the first few episodes, that I ended up stockpiling episodes on the dvr). Never got around to watching the stockpiled episodes.

When it was first season, at the time I was looking for something sci-fi to watch after Stargate Universe was canceled. After the first few episodes, Falling Skies seemed to be worse than SGU.

I was tired of Don going back to his cheating ways yet again. I thought at first that he was just unhappy with Betty and would be better off with Megan but same old shit. That and just a variety of other factors just started to make the show feel repetitive to me and I just grew tired of watching it. Like I said I think at some point I'll go back and finish it just to see how it ends but overall I don't care too much anymore.
