I seem to think that 95% of the people on this forum have very little patience with all these new shows. I guess the overabundance of Sci-Fi and Crime Drama is a huge turnoff to everyone here.
That's certainly true. I have very little patience for shows that offer nothing new. How many more "follow the evidence" shows do we need? I'm open to anything of high quality, but any show with a quirky team of investigators, a socially awkward but brilliant lead, and a weekly evidence-gathering montage is going to be on a very short leash.

If you bring something new to the table, I'll give you time to see where you're going before judging. But too many of the shows this season provide nothing new and are just routine spins on familiar territory. Yes, I will have little patience for that, and I think it's justified.

I think it's also the reason shows like Arrested Development are so treasured around here. There's nothing familiar or routine about it, and it's a breath of fresh air.

So far the only new show I've cancelled is Bones. I didn't even watch it--based on the reviews here, I figured it's a bad bet. I barely have enough time to watch the shows that interest me anyway.

I also dropped Nip/Tuck. I know it's super popular and I loved Season 1, but at some point last year it quit entertaining me.

(*I should point out though that the only new show I've seen is Kitchen Confidential. My Tivo is getting full, so I'll probably have to drop some of the scifi shows unseen.)

Looks like I'll be droping Reunion, but I'll let tonight's episoide be the deciding factor.

Surprised so many people are dropping Bones - the show's gotten better with every episode. That one's a keeper on my list.

Still haven't watched any of Threshold yet - but I'll get around to it eventually. Same with Invasion, although I missed the pilot. Didn't even bother to check out Surface.

My Name Is Earl and How I Met Your Mother are both on the fence right now. After only two episodes, they both already seem predictable - although, Neil Patrick Harris has been one of the best things about HIMYM.

Out of Practice for sure

Invasion and Threshold are close.

Other than that I'm digging Rome, Earl, Kitchen Confidential, and How I Met Your Mother for now.

I've also started watching Veronica Mars lately.

A lot of the shows folks are mentioning here never interested me enough to start watching them. But I have limited time, so I have to sieve out some shows that might otherwise be watchable, simply because they're on at a bad time. The PVR would hold a lot of shows, but I still need to budget time to watch them.

Of the older shows, ER has jumped the shark (actually, it's been sitting on the ramp, revving the throttle for a couple of seasons now, but longevity does buy a measure of loyalty from me). Alias looks like it might be eyeing the motorcycles this season. And while Threshold has an interesting premise and a hot lead actress, I just can't bring myself to go near anything that is the Spawn of Evil Itself (i.e. with Braga anywhere in the production staff). I do still watch Supernatural, and I'll probably give Night Stalker another episode or three.

I just watched the first 2 episodes of Everybody Hates Chris, dropped.

I love Chris Rock, but this show is not very good.

Unfunny -
How I Met You Mother
Out of Practice
Uninteresting -
Invasion
Surface
On the Bubble -
Bones (I hate Emily too - what is it about her?)
Survivor Quatemala (one of the most intriguing places in the world and the cast is made up of clones)
Overrated/Disappointmets -
Kitchen Confidential
Everybody Hates Chris (just an urban "Wonder Years" to me and not very funny)
Criminal Minds - the largest collection of professional idiots in television - or do the writers think they're audience is that dumb?)
Biggest Surprise -
My Name is Earl
The Office - 2nd Season (once I let go of the UK original, it's really starting to grow on me)
Bottom Line - I watch too much TV!

I couldn't get through more than that. Even with the 3 hot white girls.

From this thread I'd say things look bad for Bones - even though those who have kept watching have said it got better...

While many of you dislike Bones, the ratings trump all opinions. And it is doing fine in its timeslot. I enjoyed the last episode, and patiently wait for the longball hiatus to be over.

Suprisingly none of the new shows interested me, so I didn't bother to watch anything new this season.

So I guess (technically) I haven't dropped anything.

Yeah, Bones should be just fine for now.

So if the highest GPA in a graduating is class is a 2.3 are they still considered the valedictorian?

That's my analogy of this season's new shows.

Well, my DVR is getting clogged with unwatched episodes of "Rome," "Prison Break," and "Reunion." To save space, I dumped "Reunion" after seeing nary an episode.

Although I like the concept, I want to yell "TV, be more funny" with "How I Met Your Mother." I'll give it a couple of more episodes, but it's on the bubble.

I am now up to two official drops:

Reunion (which was already posted)

How I Met Your Mother -- as the guy above me says, it just isn't funny enough. They should have NEVER shown the kids after the first episode, and they should have cut way back on the voiceover as well. They also needed to amp up NPH and AH because they're the only funny parts of the show.

Kitchen Confidential might join them since Fox has pulled it. I'll wait for the official cancellation before adding it, though.

I'm two behind on Bones, and it seems like neither my wife nor I have much desire to watch it. We'll keep recording it for now. Maybe we can catch up when Fox goes on baseball hiatus.

Added to the list:

- Night Stalker
- Threadhold
- Invasion
