E-Ring: Didn't make it past the first ep.
Bones: Meh. Bring back Angel.
The War at Home: WTF?
Invasion: Get to the effing point already! Buh-bye.
Supernatural: Christ, can this *get* any more boring?
Prison Break: Writers need whack on forehead with a logic 2x4.

... and finally ...

Threshold: If there's a God, there's also a special place in hell for the staggeringly untalented Brannon Braga. The only reason I've lasted this long with this show is because of the wondrous Carla Gugino. But even she can't overcome the smothering cloud of putrid mediocrity that Braga inevitably dumps on his shows.

Here's my list of new shows I gave up followed by the # of episodes I watched
E-Ring: 5
Bones: 1
The War at Home: 1 (I can't believe Fox is keeping this and dumping AD)
Out of practice: 1
Kitchen Confidential: 1
How I Met Your Mother: 1
Invasion: 4
Threshhold: 3
Night Stalker: 4
Surface: 3
Reunion: 2
Close to Home: 2
Criminal Minds: 2.5
+Numerous shows I never watched even once

The only new shows from this season I still watch are:
My Name is Earl
Prison Break
Everybody Hates Chris

I'm not too enthusiastic about the new season of 24, either. I just barely made it through last season and it's getting really old.

Edit: I remembered a couple of others

First, dropped "Reunion" after 2 episodes. Recently gave up on "Threshold". I'm giving "Invasion" only a bit longer. . .would have quit already if I wasn't a William Fichtner fan.

Things are not looking bad, Bones is holding a decent amount of House's leadin audience.

I don't keep track of how many eps I watched but so far I've dropped:
Reunion
Invasion
Commander In Chief
Close To Home
Night Stalker
Threshold(I still haven't watched the last ep but I'm guessing it's losing it's Friday night spot due to Close To Home's performance last Friday)

Still Watching:
Rome
Prison Break
Surface
How I Met Your Mother
My Name Is Earl
E-Ring
Criminal Minds
Everybody Hates Chris

Dumped:
How I Met Your Mother after 1 episode
Reunion after 1 episode
War at Home after 2 episodes (let it roll through from Simpsons to FG and just avoided it after those 2 times)
Bones after 2 episodes
Kitchen Confidential (thanks to Fox)

Might check out if the reviews stay decent and it's renewed:
Supernatural (watched one ep then forgot it was on, but mildly entertaining)

Watching:
Everybody Hates Chris
My Name is Earl
Prison Break

I agree that season two of The Office is holding up extremely well. I had some family watch the Christmas episode this past weekend and they loved it although I will admit that it was one of the better episodes. I enjoy them all though.

Recent TV Shows You’ve Given Up On.

I’ve enjoyed my fair share of twaddle and guilty pleasures, but even I’ve got my limits. Heroes, what the blue blazing fuck?! Jesus-titty-fucking-Christ, it has completely fallen apart at the seams, all it has been doing after its promising opening season is struggling to go from Point A to Point B in twenty episodes, then shuffle back to Point A again. It is fucking painful: Sylar is now just an irritating turd that won’t fucking flush, Ali Larter is the most redundant actress out of an increasingly redundant ensemble, Daddy Pettrelli from The Black Hole and Jackie Brown is just too cuddly looking to be taken seriously as a megalomaniac, and what the fuck was with the eclipse?! The hacks are clearly making pretentious, cryptic shit up as they’re going along, what with the irritating and uncalled for changes in the aimless plot, and the characters contradicting themselves every third episode. The central cast getting arrested by black-ops commandos was the last straw for me.

I've seen bits of Volume 4 and read alot about it, however it seems like I haven't missed a huge deal, even if I really like Željko Ivanek (and they've clumsily rebooted things again in "1961").

I’m was not so sure about The Sarah Connor Chronicles, sometimes, but at least it was (overall) a damn sight less bloated, aimless, and fragmented than post-S1 Heroes, that’s for sure, only they took a while with this story arc involving the flying Terminator drone (though I like the creepy town and factory owned by a Skynet front company). I've stuck with that and got rewarded with yet another cancellation.

Re: Recent TV Shows You’ve Given Up On.

Yeah, I stuck with Heroes through the first 3+ seasons, but earlier this year, I'd just had enough and gave it up.

(Can't say that I've given it a second thought.)

Heroes
Fringe

Was on the brink of giving up on Lost but this season has redeemed the series.

Re: Recent TV Shows You’ve Given Up On.

Every episode I watch of Smallville, I start asking myself "Why do I still watch this show?"

House is really starting to bore me every week.

I still have the last 4 episodes of Heroes sitting in my DVR so that must say something.

Prison Break - One of my fav shows ever but gave up on after season 2 when they got sent back to prison. This was a 2 season show max and they have streched that rubber band as far as it can go.

HOUSE - I love and adore Hugh Laurie and Gregory House is one of the best TV Characters ever but I reached a point when every episode was the same and I could predict what would happen in 10 mins.

Heroes. If they're not going to put a decent effort into the writing, then I'm not going to waste my time.

Re: Recent TV Shows You’ve Given Up On.

Fringe (and I gave up on it after the quality went up -- I just decided I didn't like it enough to make it a weekly commitment)

The Unit (The Masters finally did it in -- love the show, hate the scheduling -- this is more an issue of missing it because I don't feel I can put in a scheduled recording on my DVR for it thanks to the screwed up way CBS handles Sunday)

I have the bulk of this season of Heroes on my DVR, and I haven't decided yet what to do with it.

I also gave up on Dollhouse. I figure DVDs are inevitable, and I wasn't digging the show three episodes in. The constant cancellation talk didn't help.

I gave up on Prison Break a couple seasons ago, and I started Reaper but only made it through a few season one episodes.

Heroes and 24. Once they were on at the same time, I lost interest in both. I kept watching 24 until a couple of weeks ago but I just can't be bothered anymore.

Re: Recent TV Shows You’ve Given Up On.

Wow - I've never seen Heroes (yet) and didn't realize how far it had fallen apparently. Several friends, along with all the hype here, had me convinced I need to check it out eventually. If I decide to do so, should I just stop after season 1?
