If you actively like the show, why would you decide not to watch it? If I found out that my favorite brand of frozen pizza was being discontinued, I wouldn't go to my freezer and throw them all out -- I'd enjoy what I had as long as I could.

A lot of people have this mentality that if it is getting canceled it isn't worth watching, either because they suddenly think the quality must suck or because they're afraid of ending on a cliff hanger and don't want to waste their time on something that is going to be incomplete.

"Enjoy the ride" means nothing unless there is a 105% guarantee that there is an actual ending. No matter how funny or interesting it may be.

Once I start watching a show I rarely give up on it. Heroes was the exception to that rule. I've never ever seen a show tank so far and so fast -- my head's still spinning.

And yeah, Sarah Connors did the exact opposite of Heroes; it actually got better (MUCH better) as it went along. Really hoping against hope that they bring it back.

Without a Trace - I really used to like this show. I just haven't felt the urge to watch it again.

I'm kinda surprised at the comments about House and 24. To me, both shows are great this season.

I dropped Chuck and Heroes last season. After some of the comments here, I'm glad I did!

One Tree Hill- I have been a fan for a long time, but it should have ended at the 100th episode with Lucas's wedding its been a bore ever since.

90210 and Gossip Girl I have had trouble keeping up with at the end of this season due to other conflicting shows, I'll catch up with the season when both shows make it to dvd.

I've given up on Smallville completely. It's gotten ridiculous at this point: 3 or 4 cool shows surrounded by an ocean of absolutely mediocrity featuring a whole host of characters I couldn't give 3 shits about. Here is a show that should have lasted 5 seasons and BOOM you're done.

Heroes has wore out its welcome too, unfortunately.

However, I'm STILL into Dollhouse, and really hope it gets renewed for a 2nd season.

I'm firm of the belief, though, that seasons should be 13 episodes long. The Brits got it right. Make every episode count, invest it with quality and immediacy, have a clear-cut direction, and know when to end. Stop stretching out these shows to 22-26 episodes with so much filler, so much unnecessary and disposible storylines, often utilized to mask the fact that the writers are spinning their wheels and trying to wing it so they can make it to the last 3 episodes where they quickly wrap up their "real" storyline.

I also like adult movies.

I've just about given up on 24, now I just zoom through the episode in about 5 minutes. After all this time, I'm just tired that there is always a mole and even knowing it's an over the top show, it's just too over the top for me now.

I'm also zooming through Dollhouse, just can't get that drawn into it...even if Amy Acker is in most of the eps...

I gave up on CSI starting with last season, I did come back to watch the few eps that introduced Fishburne but haven't seen much since then.

I rarely give up on shows - if they are 'eh' they will be background music while I work around the house or while I'm on the computer. I dropped Cupid after 1 episode, The Unusuals the GF loves but I don't care much for it - same with Lie to Me.

I totally agree. I love Brit shows like Life On Mars, The Office, IT Crowd, Jekyll, Green Wing. That is another reason I love cable channels such as HBO, Showtime, FX and AMC they have a set number of episodes and they know where they are going.

If the networks did imagine how much better shows like Lost, Prison Break, 24, Heroes and some of the procederals would have been.

Those that gave up on Chuck, fail at TV. I can't believe there is one mention of it in this thread, let alone multiple.

I rarely give up on a show. I stick it out 'til the end. However Heroes is testing my patience. Depending on Chuck's renewal, I'll give it a few episodes next year to make it earn it's keep as a season pass show.

I also have both seasons of Burn Notice on my DVR because of all the hype. I watched 2-3 of them and am not sold yet. I'll give it a few more before I dump 'em all.

Reality check, Heroes just ended it's third season. You guys gave up shortly after season 2, not 3.

^Yes, but there have been 4 volumes, correct? A big one for season one . A strike shortened one for season 2 and 2 over the span of season 3.

I gave up on Heroes about half way through and also The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Both writing on each show was attrocious.

24 and Heroes. The writing just got so lame I couldn't keep up on either of them anymore.

Prison Break: about midway through Season 3, it lost me. I always had to suspend my belief to some degree with the show, but the Sona storyline started my disinterest and hearing that they were bringing Sara back sealed the deal. They should have went with the original prison escape, followed by taking down the Company. 51 episodes max would have covered this. Three 17-ep seasons. How hard is that?

American Idol: if it's not really broken, why fix it? They didn't need a fourth judge and they shouldn't have returned to the semifinal one-and-done deal from Seasons 1-3. They just needed to get rid of the mentor angle (very few had anything concrete to contribute other than promoting their latest CD) and focus more on the contestants rather than if Simon is playing footsie with Paula. They've tinkered with the recipe and now it's boring.

Dancing with The Stars: after this week, I'm through with the show. Not that I thought Lil' Kim was the best dancer left, but I don't appreciate some two-bit reality show that gives a broken disco ball as a trophy manipulating things to get their favorite contestants into a finale that doesn't amount to squat. At least with Idol, there's a record deal on the line and I can see where the bigwigs want the most marketable person they can get. There's money to be made. But DWTS doesn't lead to albums, TV projects, or anything of the sort. Just let the show progress naturally--90% of the time, you'll get what you want anyway.
