So who of those left do you think has a REAL chance of fronting INXS? I can only think of Marty or maybe Mig, though he seems pretty young, as do most of the others. Would INXS really choose someone half their age (or so) to be their lead singer, or would that be too odd? Marty rocked on Lithium and just seems more mature. I doubt they'd want some youngster who can't even handle their constructive criticism. As a long-time INXS fan, I'm just trying to picture who I could actually see with the band out on tour...
Thoughts?

I still think that Marty doesn't have it at all. His Lithium was good compared to his earlier performances, but it still wasn't truly good (IMHO). Mig could do it, however, but I still think that Jordis would be a far more exciting choice. INXS wants to be a real band, not a cover band doing nothing but their old songs. If they want to try to make new music that stands on its own then they should seriously consider Jordis. They can create something new. I know they won't sell as many copies that way but they're millionaires many times over. Hopefully what they want is to make cool music.

I thought the song selections for tonight were rather poor. Poor Jessica -- "Blister in the Sun" just might knock her out. Brandon's Tonic song seems to suit his voice if only he could get the melody down. And J.D. continues to be a weasel, manipulating his way into getting the song he wants while pretending to be doing a favor.

Dave just rules all right now for me:
"Is that your sister down there? And you held it together?"
just awesome. Glad to see JD taking a lot of ribbing tonight.

Someone please explain to me how Jordis has not been discovered yet. I know she's young but still. She's gorgeous, perfect image and has the best voice I think I've ever heard from a female rock singer. I don't care what happens with their band, INXS. Jordis will be fronting an awesome band soon enough. I just can't wait till it happens. I'm absolutely in love with everything about her.

If you've read my posts, you'll see that I can't agree with you more. She's absolutely amazing, and did another great performance tonight.
She won't get picked to front INXS, which is the best thing for her because she'd be wasting her talents. Hopefully she'll find hte right band and be a big star because she deserves it.

MiG - fun performance, Freddy Mercury can stop rolling in his grave now.
Deanna - great song choice for her voice. She really blew it out tonight.
Marty - rocked the house, he looks so comfortable on stage, just owns it.
Ty - not the best song choice for him, I thought he tried too hard to over-sell the song, and the performance just didn't do it for me.
Jessica - captured the spirit of the song pretty well with her energy, though, as a showcase for a singer's talent, not quite sure why it was one of the song choices.
Brandon - his vocals cut a little too much, sings in his upper register too much, and I think his melodies suffer for it. I wasn't all that impressed by his performance tonight.
Jordis - stunning control and melodic intonations makes her the one to beat.
JD - another good choice for JD this week, he connected with the audience and the song in one performance.
Tara - bored me, but I think it's because she can't sing the song in a higher key, and it didn't sound right to me.
Suzie - not bad, not great, also sang the song in a lower key than I would have liked.
-----
Bottom three (for me):
Tara
Jessica
Brandon
Middle 3:
Suzie
Ty
MiG
Top 4:
Jordis
Marty
JD
Deanna

Even when my favorites sing (Deanna, Jordis) this show makes you really appreciate just how good the originals are.
I'm two songs in and that was a terrific attempt at singing a Queen song, but as good as it was, you can't help thinking that no one should ever try and sing something Freddie sang.
I was really happy with Deanna tonight and still that wasn't close to as good as Melissa's version.
I can't see Ty winning if he can't do the Dave a little better than that. It wasn't awful, but it was far from good. Of course, that is one of my all time favorite songs, so I might be biased.

I'm not a big fan of Deanna. So she walked over to the band, INXS. Big deal. Her voice only has one sound: deep. She sounds great doing those low verse parts but she can't really do much beyond that.
Brandon - Several times tonight I kept thinking I was watching a Will Ferrell SNL character.
Ty didn't really grasp "Everlong". I still liked it, but it exposed some of his weaknesses.
Tara made "Message in a Bottle" sound like a Motels song. I kinda dug it for some reason.
I thought Jessica did the best possible job with a song that was pretty much impossible for her to do justice to. I'm not sure if that is praise or a slam, though.
Mig did okay, but that's not really a singer's song. It's practically a rap song if you think about it.
Jordis - Liked it a lot.
Marty's arm thing weirds me out. But he made a Creed song sound decent, so
J.D.'s best performance??? Don't think so. Whatever version of "The Letter" that was, it sucked.
Suzie was fun and had a nice range to her voice. Probably her best so far.
