They really have all sort of fallen apart. I'm wondering why no one's asked Ramsay that. Michael I thought had the most potential, but he ended up forfeiting both prizes, so he really didn't win anything.

American Idol winners don't always pan out either. Who cares? It's the journey that's entertaining.

What are you talking about?
Michael was a head chef at Tatou in LA
Heather was senior chef at the Terra Rossa restaurant in Vegas, but now works in Seattle.
Rock was the head chef at the Terra Verde, but moved to PR instead.
Christina is the senior sous chef, although the season said she would be head chef, at Ramsay's Hollywood restaurant.
Everyone had some sort of success out of Hell's Kitchen.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 5 Discussion Thread -- Premieres 1/29/09
Ya, most of them have not even gotten the "prize" that was suggested.
Michael turned down the money to start his own restaurant and took Ramsay's offer, only to turn it down after the show had aired (which, if you ask me, is insane). That one's really on him.
Heather was not the executive chef at Terra Rossa as was the prize, she was a "head chef" but there were numerous chefs above her.
Rock ended up moving to PR as you stated... so what happened there?
And Christina you already brought up.
In other words, none of the winners have gotten the announced prize.

If Christina is still working at that restaurant for Ramsay in LA then she got the announced prize.
I remember the discussion last season was that the prize wasn't all that great.

Pretty good episode, one of the better challenges. I really don't understand why they have them being servers so often. Also, I have to agree with Ben about the desserts, Ramsay did say to fire them up, and that would mean to send them out.

Good episode. Ramsay really gave it to Colleen again. I don't understand why the hell he kept Seth. That guy is one of those doofus assholes that never listens to a word you say and brown noses all the time. He's a fucking moron. Between Seth and Lacey, there's plenty of hate to go around this season.

I agree, I think most people I've talked to think he made the wrong choice in voting him out.

From what I understand the winners get contracts. And after the contracts are up its up to the management if they want to keep them on. And in all likelihood they will probably be let go. Rock at least got offered another job. Which he may be better suited for.

I've never seen somebody complain as much as Lacey. Seriously. She needs to learn to STFU.
Anyone else think Andrea is a little hottie? Man.
Good episode, last night. I love how Seth wanted a recount and then babbled for ages on why he should stay.

They purposely keep the "idiots" of the show on for as long as they can to get as much mileage out of them as possible (antagonizing the rest of the cast, talking retarded on camera, driving the audience crazy). I knew Seth was sticking around.
The first ones dumped (usually) are the "bland" personalities that don't have much to offer on camera even tho they do a better job in the kitchen.

I could have sworn one of the customers was none other than Kristy Swanson. They only had a shot of the lady looking down and it was close...but the voice was dead on. Anyone else catch it?

I'd love to see a 'Hell's Kitchen - Professional Edition'
Yes i know many of the contestants are supposed to be profesionals but let's face it, they aren't the most competent and are chosen because of that
I'd like to see 16 of the very best out of all the applicants on a show, true successful professionals and have the bar raised for the challenges and the dinner service to the Nth degree.

Other than that, it was a really entertaining episode. I think Giovanni should have gone. The guy is a so-called "Steak House" Chef and he couldn't cook a damn thing to save his life. At least Andrea was cranking stuff out with no complaints.
Is it just me or does it seem that almost every single contestant who enters this show is a heavy smoker?

The one thing I always laugh about is that they're always complaining about how little sleep they get, but they're up until 3AM smoking cigarettes and complaining to/about each other.
