I think they rated higher than Sony's in some comparisons. Also, I've heard their customer service is pretty darn good if your card stops working.

That is a good price.

nodeer, I've used multiple SanDisk memory sticks in my digital camera over the past 3.5 years and never had a problem. Should be noted that it is a standard memory stick and not the new duo's.

Greedy Greedy Sony

Sony to charge for PSP downloads?

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe vice president Phil Harrison revealed yesterday that, having used the free downloads of Wipeout Pure as a test case, Sony would be moving to a pay-per-download model for extra content next year. "It's an experiment which has turned out to be a good experiment," he told UK-based Edge magazine.

"Edge also quotes Harrison as saying that Sony is in the process of setting up a digital rights management system for PSP content. Like iTunes, this system will allow gamers to pay for content once and download it multiple times. While Harrison didn't identify what kind of content would be available for download, it would presumably be similar to the Wipeout Pure content, which included new vehicles, levels, and menu skins."

The reviews I read were just some stuff on Amazon & Circuit City (probably shills for Sony).

So this is not a PRO DUO? Are the "new duos" the "pro duos"?

edit: ok, it IS a pro duo. What are the "new duos" then? What's the difference?

Figures. I just bought a 1 Gig San Disc card this week for $84 from newegg. Ouch.
One thing -- the one pictured there doesn't come with the adaptor (mine did), and without it you can't use it in a card reader so that's one thing to think about. Of course, you can still use the usb cable instead.

"Classic Pack 2"

Blurring the lines between the real and the virtual, this pack features immersive recreations of the mid-22nd century evolutions of the classic Odessa Keys and Porta Kora tracks. Also in this download are skins in the colors of the Tigron and Van Uber teams – a must have for the fans of those F9000 Anti-Gravity racing league contenders.
I tried to download the pack, but it doesn't seem to like that I'm using the new security feature. Won't let me log on (the connection name is grayed out) even though it works great for the web browswer. Guess I'll have to do it manually.

Yes, I think the (non-standard) convention is "gaming" version = no adaptor.

Well there goes my ability to play NES games on my PSP. Haven't had any problems with my PSP since the day I bought it and for some reason last night the D-Pad no longer functions properly. When I'm at the main PSP menu and I press left, it goes right, when I try to move up and down it won't even work. I did a factory reset on the unit and even took the battery out for an hour and still doesn't work. I have the PSP covered so I can easily replace it but that would mean losing my 1.5! NOOOOOO! I could probably send it to Sony but I'm afraid they would update the unit to 2.0 when they repaired it. This sucks.

Aww man, just when I was about to write off the PSP completely Capcom comes along and busts out the old-school. First Ghouls 'n Ghosts and now this:

Rockman Rockman (Megaman Megaman)

It seems to be a super-deformed remake of the original Megaman, or perhaps a new game with classic gameplay.

Now check this out:

Level editor?

Dunno, if anybody can read Japanese you can try to translate this webpage:

Can you send in the rebates after the expiration as long as you purchased it before? I'd do this offer, but don't think the stick would arrive before the rebate expired, and you need to cut off the UPC from the actual package.

Never mind-actually says on the form that it has to be postmarked by 10/9. I'm doing it. Great deal.

Missed it again. Sold out.

*edit* thought I would search for it on their site and it is available via another link for a mere $154.

The Rockman game looks amazing. I'll buy the game just to support the art direction even if I don't have a PSP when it comes out.

For those in Austin the new Sears Grand on Parmer and IH 35 had the one gig san disk in stock for like 109. Not a great price but it was the first time I had seen one in a store.

I've seen them in lots of places...hold out, online is still the best deal by far.

GTA: Liberty City Stories trailer is now up at Rockstar's site and IGN. If you fiddle around with the interface on Rockstar's site you can find three videos of actual in-game play footage.

I gotta say, it looks really good. It's not as pretty as GTA3 on the PS2 (it's damn close though), but the gameplay seems to be there. Basically, if you're not already burned out on the GTA games, you'll love what you're about to see.

It does look pretty awesome. They need better music for the trailer, though. I really can't believe Rockstar could put an entire GTA game on a PSP, but it looks like they did. About time the PSP had a system seller and this looks to be it.

Look. Gamespot's review of Burnout Legends is up! 9.0. Sounds pretty awesome; I'm impressed. After dealing with the terrible frame rates on ATV that make the game almost unplayable, this is certainly good news for the abilities of the system.

After watching the videos and checking out the other info on that site, it appears
Spoiler:
motorcycles
are in.

But according to another site:
Spoiler:
What we do know is that Toni, like the GTA 3 guy and Tommy Vercetti before him, will drown if he falls into a large body of water, leaving CJ as the only GTA character who took swimming lessons. Just stay away from the ocean and you should be fine. But dont try to run inside of a building just because of your aquaphobia --- there are no interior environment, just like in GTA 3
Spoiler:
I can understand them taking out diving, so they don't have to create an extensive underwater area. I also understand why they don't want extensive swimming, so they can keep you in certain areas. But I'm disappointed there won't be at least limited swimming. Falling in the water 10 feet from shore and drowning was one of the most annoying features of pre-San Andreas GTA.

I was at least hoping for SOME indoor environments. That's another disappointment for me.

I still wonder if there will be any expansion on the land area of Liberty City or not.

I think EBgames.com says 9/13 (so, hopefully it's this week)

I have this for PSP and XBOX on pre-order at GameRush

Two new games hit stores today.

Burnout Legends
GameSpot: 9.0

Medievil Resurrection
GameSpot: 6.1
IGN: 7.3

I was really looking forward to Medievil, but it sounds like another poorly done update. I'm definiltey going to have to pick up Burnout.

Anyone think (or heard of any rumors) that there could be a price drop for the PSP around Xbox360 launch, or around Christmas?

I had some trouble with my PSP and got a Circuit City credit for the original purchase amount via the CC protection plan. I'm wondering if I should wait until Christmas time to buy or just go ahead and buy it again now.

Maybe around X-mas, but I doubt the 360 launch would be any impetus to drop price since no ones going to pass on a new console for a handheld as their apples and oranges.

There are rumors that the US will get the non-Value Pack this fall. Still just a rumor.
