I put in an average of 2 hours a day and maybe 5-10 average on the weekends. I started back in April.

I've got a level 60 Druid and a 31 Priest. I've got my epic mount, just got keyed for Onyxia last night and, even though I don't have the best gear in the game, I hold my own in raids and instances.

It helped that I ran up to 60 with the same 3-4 people, so we were always helping each other, but you CAN play the game fairly casually and still have a good time.

How do you do the epic raids/quests, if you can only play 1-2 hours every day? I heard it takes 3-4 hours for raids/dungeons?

Some can be done in 2-3, and I really only ran things once. I don't really raid much, but for example I got in to a raid with my guild last night 2 pulls from the boss I needed and was done in about 30 minutes. A good, casual raiding guild should let you leave if you need to. I don't have the best gear in the game by any means, but I've got a nice set of blues and, like I said, can hold my own in most fights.

I usually save instances for the weekend, or the occassionaly 8 PM to 11 PM run during the week.

I hit nearly all the instances until around 50, then moved into the higher level stuff with the rest of my guild. Now, I usually just hop on to run some battlegrounds, run a quick dungeon or to do solo stuff with my alt.

Would you advise a druid/shaman type class for someone that might be doing alot of solo?

I think the consensus is that hunters are the best solo class. Sending the pet in to do the heavy lifting, plus "Feign Death" is a great escape move. Not to mention the insane range they can eventually shoot from.

I did okay soloing with my feral druid, because I could go bear form to tank and use cat form to stealth. And once I got it, I could then use my travel form to run. I ground my last 10 levels pretty much solo, then respecced my character to restoration. So that's doable.

Warlocks can also be good solo. Again, the pets help.

Don't know much about Shamans, but they can heal themselves and take a beating, which is all you really need in a solo class.

On Ebay? That would be great. My Druid has a ton of epiccs from AQ40 and full tier 2 set, I will have to start looking to see what I can get, I was thinking 300.00 would be a lot

For soloing which is mostly what I did, I liked the Druid which I specced as healing since it was easier to get into groups if needed or my pally in the early levels. For the Paladin this was prior to the talent changes and was quite fun until the higher levels when killing anything by yourself takes forever. My rogue was fun but I had better luck with my druid. Shapeshift bear then feral charge or stealth as cat then attack. If my health got low I shifted and used my instant heal then shifted back.

Very true. Druids can get into almost any group and solo, you can do almost anything. If you need to get away root and travel form out. My bear has over 10k health and 12k armor, with 1050 attack power. I can almost sit in bear and kill anything i see, but cats will destroy people real fast. Also you can heal

Re: time playing in raids.
my guild has 2 raids a week (tuesday/thursday) that start at 9pm server time and usually end by 11:30 or 12, so thats only like 2.5-3 hours. A lot of mine time playing is spent playing just like 30 minutes to and hour at a time. you can work on a quest, do half of it, quit and then when you start up finish the other half.

Patch 1.12 out today. Only about 16 megs. Very underwhelming content-wise IMO.

I say it makes no sense to have world-pvp in Silithus since both the Horde and Alliance have a common enemy (AQ) and share a base together.

Alliance.

Just hit lvl 40 yesterday.

Anyone else use Vent with their guild? It makes a world of difference in Dungeons and Raids. It beats typing in group to discuss strategy and such.

servers up yet?
i downloaded the CTRA update already, i'm not sure which other addons are going to need to be updated. Damage Meters still work? i threw out SCT this morning.
i guess most of them i can just turn off since i'll be playing a warrior tonight in ZG. my mage uses way more addons.

This patch has been HORRIBLE.

I couldn't stay connected for more than 30 seconds...everyone was showing up as 'Unknown'....they just shut down Muradin...hopefully things will be fixed when it comes back up. I cannot believe the lag and extra problems this patch has brought on.

And whats even worse? Is that when the servers go down its nearly impossible to bring up the main WoW site to check status', etc...as it gets hit soooo hard when things go down.

DVDTalk and other sites come up like pages in a book so I know its not my connection.

Meh, it's like this every patch. And I gotta say, the official WoW site is hands down the worst site from any major company that I've seen. I don't understand how the numerous downtimes (and usually on maintenance day every Tuesday) is acceptable. They should've fired their entire web team ages ago.

I don't think its their web team at all...the site looks great! I can also understand 6-7 hours downtime 1x per week. With this type of game I have no problems with it. Today's downtime is totally unnacceptable though...this is bad..this has been, for the most part, 18 hours for the server I'm on, Muradin.

Its simply the hardware and connection. They need to upgrade to get max hits during downtimes. Just my opinion though.

They always seem surprised when the website goes down - like it does every.single.patch.day.

Seriously, millions of people are coming, get ready for it.

I hopped on at 10:30 this evening and managed to play just fine. Only one addon error, otherwise it was all working. Apparently Battlegrounds are a bit fucked though. Ah well, gotta love patch day.

I almost always download the patches from external sites on patch day, in case the servers get overloaded and the Blizzard Downloader is overwhelmed. I'm happy I did, because I loaded WoW when I got home last night, and 45 minutes later only had 512k of the patch loaded. Grabbed the patch from my SD card, and had it patched in a few minutes.

I didn't have the disconnection problems FiveO had, but there were a lot of lag spikes in the 2 hours I played last night.

Unrelated question- If one is dumb enough to schedule auctions so that they close or run during Tuesday downtime, do they get extended to make up for that time?

In the past, auctions used to run during maintenance but I'm not sure how it is now.

It's odd reading all the issues Blizz is having with the cross-realm BGs. What's the point of having a test realm up for 2 months if they can't anticipate these problems?

It was laggy last night but it cleared up and our ZG run went fine. We attempted Jindo and he worked us. we killed the snake and, for the first time, the panter. no good warrior drops.
After the raid i signed up for the 3 battlegrounds and got into Ab after about 10 minutes and then a couple minutes later got into WSG (since the AB game i got into was a lost cause; down 1500 resources). WSG worked great.
