Finally hit a couple of Big Lots after reading over the last few pages of this thread. One store was loaded with many of the titles mentioned (with the same 'hot' ones missing), the other 10 minutes away had hardly anything...and it didn't look picked through. The display was jam packed with software and other stuff. Appears somewhat random as to which stores get certain items.

My local Big Lots got a new shipment in today. I was able to snag a copy of Steamboy and An Evening With Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder. No luck on Memento, but I was thrilled with what I found. Also, for anyone that is interested: it appears as though a new shipment of Funimation DVD's has arrived. There were a bunch of new random DBZ, DB: GT, Yu Yu Hakusho, Case Closed, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. volumes to be found.

Found copies of Memento (2-Disc Special Edition), A River Runs Through It (Deluxe Edition) and Ali (Director's Cut). Can't complain.

Also, anyone looking for Panda Z Vol.4? I hadn't seen it before and noticed it today. I left it there, but might be able to go back and get it if someone needs it.

Cheers!
I have not heard from the original posters asking about the above titles.
I also now have an extra copy of Steamboy, as a trade fell through because he found it himself.

Anyone still want any of these titles? I'm only looking for Evening w/KS 2 right now. If no one wants them, I will probably just return them in a few weeks.

Picked up a copy of 'A Very Long Engagement' today for $1. Turns out it was used and resealed, but the discs were in excellent condition save a few finger smudges on one disc.

Went to one of my local Big Lots to see what they had.

Found a bunch ( 7 different I believe ) Super Brawl DVDs. That's MMA in case you didn't know.

They also had the Batman 1947 serial set too that was mentioned earlier.

I went to a BG that looked ahead of the rest. They had some used DVDs now with a new sticker "previously enjoyed" instead of "previously viewed" Never saw that before.

They had some of the Charlie's Angels Deluxe ED at $3, but also some were priced at $2 (same titles) I saw the Guns of Navorone for $2. and also Punchline and other titles for $2.00 (can't remember)

I guess that will be the new shipment.

Which edition of Guns of Navarrone is this anyway?

The DVD was Special Edition By Columbia Tristar.

I went to the BL close to home and didn't like I what I found. I came back home empty handed and they had a new stock but the DVDs looked like used even though some of the titles didn't have the "previously enjoyed" sticker. I think they were used because they didn't have the white security stripes around the boxes, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks like they had been repackaged. They were also $4 instead of $3. Not good, especially if they were "previously enjoyed" The titles I remember were:

Matchpoint
Squid and the Whale

I checked out another Big Lots today (South Blvd., Charlotte, NC).

Like the other store I'd been to, all of the Sony titles were on a special table in the front of the store, not on the usual four-sided display.

And at this store, almost all of the Sony DVDs were priced at just $2.00, instead of $3.00.

I picked up:

Fun With Dick And Jane (1977 - George Segal, Jane Fonda) ($3.00)

Hawkeye And The Last Of The Mohicans ($4.00 - a 2-disc Platinum Disc Corporation set with 10 episodes of the 1950's TV show with John Hart and Lon Chaney, Jr.)

All the rest were $2.00 each (the ones marked with an asterisk I had not seen mentioned previously in this thread):

8MM 2. Unrated

An Evening With Kevin Smith: Evening Harder (2-disc)

Being Julia

Blue Thunder. Special Edition

Bobby Jones: Stroke Of Genius. Special Edition

* Cowboy (1958 - Glenn Ford, Jack Lemmon. One of the best westerns of the 1950's, here treated miserably by Columbia TriStar with just a full-screen-only version - but for $2.00 I took it as a place-holder in the collection until the day when a decent widescreen transfer comes out)

* The Escapist (Jonny Lee Miller, Andy Serkis)

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Special Edition (2-disc)

* Godzilla (1998): Monster Edition (2006)

The Guns Of Navarone. Special Edition (2000)

* Gunslinger's Revenge (Harvey Keitel, David Bowie)

Imaginary Heroes

In The Cut. Uncut Director's Edition

* Murder At The Presidio (Lou Diamond Phillips, Victoria Pratt)

* The Prisoner (1955 film - Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins)

Silver City

Steamboy. Director's Cut

The Squid And The Whale. Special Edition

* Vampires: Los Muertos

Where The Truth Lies. Unrated Theatrical Edition

Unfortunately, still no 1943 Batman serial, Steve McQueen or Dean Martin sets in my area - which are still the main titles I'm looking for.

I still have extras of McQueen and Martin, as the original posters have not contacted me about those yet, so if you want to work something out, get in touch.

For those who picked up "Fun With Dick & Jane" (Segal-Fonda, 1977), waaaaay at the end of the credit page at IMDB:

"
Jay Leno ... Extra (uncredited)"

A strange thing happened at the Western Hills store. When I stopped by on Tuesday, they had several opened and unopened boxes of the new Sony titles sitting next to a display bin that was in the process of being filled, and I grabbed a few. I went back yesterday to return some stuff, and the bin and boxes were nowhere to be found.

Rumor has it that these titles are part of their Black Friday sale, so I'm wondering if these titles were even supposed to be put out yet. Clearly, a number of stores don't seem to care, but I did find it odd that an entire display (which was separate from their normal DVD display) just vanished. Rumor also has it that they will be priced at $2, as Autolycus discovered. I guess we'll find out next week.

I've seen scans of the ad, and from what I could make out these titles are BF specials and the price listed in the flyer is $2.

I sure hope so. I also hope these being advertised means we can expect more to show up for that day. My local store has a very meager selection right now. Still, I went ahead and buried the couple I'm interested in under some dusty old PC software on the same rack.

I hit my four local Big Lots before striking gold at the last one. I picked up:

White Nights: Special Edition
The Mothman Prophecies
Silver City
Body Double: Special Edition
A League of Their Own: Special Edition
Ali: Director's Cut
Batman: The Complete 1943 Movie Serial Collection
Blue Lagoon/Return to Blue Lagoon
Dean Martin Double Feature
Urban Legend
I Know What You Did Last Summer

That last one had a ton of titles mentioned in this thread (including the Steve McQueen one) but I still couldn't find my most wanted:

An Evening With Kevin Smith: Evening Harder
Blue Thunder: Special Edition
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - Special Edition
Godzilla: Monster Edition
Steamboy: Director's Cut

He sings the title song for "Who Was That Lady?" and there is a segment in the film where he sings a couple verses of it, but that's it.
There are no other performances or singing by Martin in "How To Save A Marriage..."

Thanks Basaro. My dad's a big Dean Martin fan but mostly for his singing so he said he wouldn't be interested in these if there wasn't any.

Anyone have an extra Blue Lagoon/Return to Blue Lagoon that they would want to sell or trade for Big Lots items they can't find?

Anyone see any Cowboy Bebop sessions other than 3?
