As far as the $28 for TNBC, I certainly understand what you are saying. I would love to see a 3-for-60 deal, which everyone else seems to be getting except for me. However, I'm tired of waiting for it to probably never come.
I could care less what some other retailer is selling it for though.
I use DMC and CH memberships to get discs for THE BEST AVERAGE OVERALL PRICE.
So when I sign up and get 6 DVDs for $16, those average out with the prices paid for the fulfillment titles, so that the average price paid per movie is lower than what any retailer will offer it for. Otherwise, it would be totally pointless to even join the club.
Good news about the 2-pack counting as 2. I'll hold you to that and put the order in. I don't even want either movie, but it's the only way to get free shipping, so I'll buy them and sell them off.
___
As for Columbia House, all of your points are correct, but there's nothing anyone can do. I'd rather get the discs for the best possible price, as opposed to them sinking tons of money into R&D and tacking 20-25% onto the average price per movie at the same time.
It can be VERY frustrating at times with CH, but after all these years, I'm fairly used to it.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Well, my standard offer is "Buy 1 - Get 33% off dvds and 20% off Blu-ray".
I was also going to buy a few of the "exclusive" dvds for a friend, and one of them for myself. Those dvds are at 33% off now, so changing that to 15% would truncate the savings.
One thing that pisses me off, is that TNBC should be discounted by 20% according to the offer, but it is not being discounted at all.
I'll have to decide if I want to proceed with TNBC though. I'm still up in the air on that one. If I don't order it though, that means my account still has 1 fulfillment left to be purchased.
I'd rather get this account done, so I can close it and open another.
FWIW, when I click on OTHER OFFERS, there's nothing there.
I have another account that does have it though.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
If the DVD has a sale price (usually an even dollar amount, like $9.00), then it won't be discounted by any other sale code, ever. This leads to ridiculous things like 50%-off codes on $14.95 DVDs being better deals than the $9.00 sale price, resulting in their "sale" items that they seem to be pricing to move not moving. You basically have to wait for the sale to end to get it at the better price. I've been locked out of DVDs I wanted to buy that way, which subsequently were dropped from the club listings, since I wasn't willing to pay the higher "sale" price.

Smart-Ass.. I just got an email from DMC that has some early bird discounts.. one of which is the NMBC BD for $17. Thats a fabulous price.
Edit: When I clicked on the sale link, the SD version is $17. So, I dont know what gives.

Dang, I still didn't place the order yet, so I'll have to see what's going on. I suspect the $17 price is meant for the dvd, and is probably a misprint for the BD. None_the_less though, they should still honor it... misprint or not.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Just found a happy little surprise in my DMC account this afternoon. If you've signed up for a standard account (NOT a Blu-Ray account), go into My Account and change your preference from DVD to Blu-Ray (all this does is change the format on your Director's Selection default). It'll take about 2 weeks to convert. Once it does, check "Other Offers", and a new coupon has shown up - it states "You've Upgraded To Blu-Ray!" and allows me to choose any one Blu-Ray ($32.95 or less, so I can't use it on that 3-disc WALL-E, unfortunately) for just $10 (plus s&h).
According to the coupon, the offer is good through 12-24-09. I'm sitting on my coupon right now - I want to see if I can combine it with a free shipping offer.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Glad you found that, although its nothing new. =)
Here is a tip.. any DMC BD priced at 32.95 (used to be 29.95) or under is eligible for the $10 deal, even if it doesnt automatically show on the website. If there is a movie at that price that you want and the site refuses to adjust the price, call DMC and the customer service rep will take care of it.
Cheato and I both scored Sin City BD for $10 under that deal. Happy shopping.
And no, you cant combine it with ant other offer.

Zorro The Complete Second Season set is finally available at the Disney Movie Rewards website (not Disney Movie Club). The First Season has been available for a long time; not sure when they added Season two. First season costs 2200 points, while Second season costs 2250.
Edit: Each DVD in Season 2 set has 100 Reward Points code, making final cost 1750 points.

Has anyone noticed, that with the Blu-ray enrollment page, they have added Bolt, Bugs Life, Nightmare Before X-mas, and Sin City as enrollments.
However, when I try to use those selections as enrollment, the total amount charged for all the discs is an oddly outrageous price, like $75 instead of $30.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
I don’t know if you guys talk about this before but here we go:
I bought 2 Blu-ray for $50 with free shipping back in May and when I asked if they were going to be count towards my commitment purchase or not and the CS representative told me they will. I checked my online account and they never showed up as commitment (I only have one Mickey head I was suppose to have 3).
I called the customer service again today and asked them why they don’t show up on my account and they told me that Blu-ray purchases suppose to be $29.95 or higher. ?!?!? I spent $50 on 2 Blu-rays which I could have bought for $15 or less online or during sales at target or somewhere else. I only spent that much money because I thought they were going to count towards my commitment purchases. I don’t know what to do right now and I appreciate if anybody can help me with this.
Thanks a lot.

If this is the Blu-ray club, then it does say that they have to be at least $29.95 to count as fulfillment titles, right? If so, then it seems like you might be out of luck, unless you complain enough about the info you got form the CS rep on the phone before you placed your order.
I have no firsthand experience with Blu-rays counting as fulfillments for the DVD club, so I don't know for sure how that works.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Just received an email with an offer of 50% off of all box sets with no other purchase necessary. When I logged into my account, there was no mention of the offer. But when I accessed the box set section the offer was displayed. Good through 9/21. Shows like Lost Season 4, Grey's Anatomy Season 4, and Ugly Betty Season 2 are $19.98 plus S/H. Not too great of a selection and does not apply to Blu-Ray box sets. Still, not too bad of a deal.

^Any idea if these will count towards fulfillment as long as they meet the minimum purchase amount?

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Sorry, Bobaray, I know how you feel, but that was announced a few months ago.
I ordered Season 1 through Disney Rewards, spending all my rewards points from all my various DVD purchases, and then they announced the Treasures versions of both seasons. My Season 1 is still unopened, and has been sitting here since May. Every time I look at it, I'm disappointed. I would rather have used my points on other Club Exclusive titles, like Kidnapped, Rob Roy the Highland Rogue, and The Fighting Prince of Donegal.
But, on to the reason for my post.
Is anyone else getting Blu-rays as their monthly selections, even though they have their account preferences' preferred format set to DVD? I originally changed to Blu-ray to get that $10 Blu-ray coupon a while back. However, since I then had problems actually using the coupon, and the site was buggy about giving discounts to Blu-rays, I decided to switch back to DVD. However, last month and this month (the new selection, Disney Earth or whatever it's called is up now--that movie version of the Planet Earth documentary series), my selection format was in Blu-ray.
To be honest, that's probably OK for me for next month, as I have been waiting for Snow White to use as a fulfillment, and it appears that will be the Blu-ray selection next month, but it still seems strange to not have the DVD option anymore, even though in my account preferences, it is clearly set to DVD. Also, I never used the coupon they gave me on the site to get my Blu-ray for $10 (since I called them and did it over the phone), and that just disappeared from my "Other Offers" page a couple weeks ago, so I'm not sure if that somehow locked me into Blu-ray in this account forever.
It would be nice if they just made either format of the selection count (DVD or Blu-ray), and you could easily switch between Blu-ray and DVD when you ordered. How hard would that be? And why make it such a frustrating experience like it is now?
Fingers crossed for a good deal next month. I hope X-Men volumes 3 and 4 are made available through the club, and I can get a good x%-off code to work with a free shipping fulfillment combo deal, and put in a big order for Snow White Blu-ray, another good Blu-ray (if needed), and the 4 X-Men volumes. If the Zorro Treasures are available for pre-order, I could see getting those, too, but I don't remember ever seeing anything available for pre-order in the DMC, so I might have to get those in my next cycle.

I agree Cheato, they make it harder than it needs to be.
Just as well, what's up with always pairing up movies that no one wants with the featured selection? Why not choose any disc you want to ad to the featured selection to qualify for free s/h?
I was excited yesterday when I got the promo packet in the mail.
On of my top wants, Nightmare B4 Xmas was paired with this months selection, however now there is the opposite problem... I'm not going to pay $35 for EARTH when I can get it on Amazon for like $15-$20 .
Then I saw they had a -3 for $60- going for Blu-ray, then I saw the list was limited and didn't include ANY of the titles I want (Nightmare, Bugs Life, Bolt).
SIGH!!!!...................

I don't think DMC cares about the average person who might sell a movie here and there on Ebay after watching it, but this is a little too much. I wonder if they get around it by buying copies from "other people".
From DMC website:
"Movies purchased through the Disney Movie Club are not intended for resale or other commercial purposes. Violations to this policy are strictly prohibited."
https://disneymovieclub.go.com/webap...TermsAgreement
Again, I don't think they could stop the average viewer. What they are looking for are people making a business of it, just like the example here.

Once the copy is sold, there's no way Disney can prevent someone from reselling it. The most they can do is ban the seller from the club if they can identify him/her. Even that is an imperfect system, since I am a Disney club member but have bought "exclusives" from flea mkt. vendors, eBay, Amazon, etc. I ought to be able to resell those copies after watching them without being penalized by Disney; after all, I didn't buy them new from Disney exclusively for reselling them.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
I gave in and pre-ordered the Snow White Blu-ray/DVD combo through Amazon using the SNOWHITE $10-off code. You can order the Blu-ray packaging at $14.99, and get something else for at least $1 to get you FSSS, or you can order the DVD packaging for $15.99, which qualifies for FSSS by itself (the SNOWHITE discount comes off after the FSSS qualification total of $25).
Doing the calculations, it seemed like it would be a bit better to do that and then later fulfill with something else that I know I'll want (like maybe the Zorro season Treasures, using a decent code when one comes along) than to hope that the 2nd feature in a 2-pack with Snow White is one that I want, and that a decent code will be available at the same time. Magic 8-Ball said "Don't count on it."
Sorry, Disney, but your Featured Selections and the deals associated with them have really sucked lately. Just have a standard deal, with maybe 2 or 3 different Featured Selections each month (like CH with their "Alternates"). How about 1 main selection (with Blu-ray or DVD options), and a second from a limited selection for a discounted total, or a second from the entire catalog of $19.95+ titles for a slightly less-discounted total? Make everything format-optional, give Free Shipping + 33%-off additional titles (with once-in-a-while sales of 50%-off or whatever). If you really want to push Blu-ray, leave it at the higher prices, sure, but at least make it optional to choose each month as a Featured Selection, and give it the same discounts as the DVD versions (or even better discounts).
Your current club's policies site design resulted in my ordering Snow White from Amazon, even though I am actively trying to buy fulfillments from you.

$20 Blu-Ray, 3 minimum is available for my unfulfilled account. I called and spoke to 2 different reps. Both told me the Blu-Rays would not count toward my fulfilment because they must be $19.95 before discounts. So they offered them either $20 and no fulfilment, or $29.95 with fulfilment. Naturally I refused. Is there any way around this?

Are you guys talking about the Blu-ray account? If so, that's the deal you signed up for, right? It specifically says $29.95 and over to count toward fulfillment.
You don't complain when CH has a 1/2-price sale and those $9.98 DVDs don't count toward fulfillment.

It is a DVD account requiring 3 fulfillments at $19.95 or more. What would be my best option for fulfillment? Should I wait for a special sale or discount?
