just finished watching Suspiria, one of my favorite films of all time, I showed it to my girlfriend for the first time, who loved it also.

I don't see any remaining themes that would fit Repulsion unless I'm missing something. It's an excellent film.

Which version/company did you see [of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with sound effects]? I've yet to see it with a track like that. But 1920 was too early for sound effects to be added on a soundtrack. I think this was attempted sometime between 1925-1927. I remember there was a swashbuckling movie that had "Sword-dueling effects" and The Man Who Laughs has crowd noise & a vocal song.
I made almost the same list when I first purchased the box set with the busts (which are *amazing*). Then I picked up "The Wolf Man", "The Invisible Man", and "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" sets (which unfortunately were never available in a box set with busts - those would have been very cool too!) along with the Abbott and Costello monster titles.
I had to update my list to include those additional titles even though they do not not crossover with the others. While one could argue about the inclusion of "The Invisible Man" and "Creature from the Black Lagoon" series, without "The Mummy" titles the "classic monsters" just seem a bit incomplete. Plus "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" is pretty much a sequel to "House of Dracula" and includes a "guest appearance" by "The Invisible Man".

Was out today and discovered the release of the theatrical version of Grindhouse. I had no idea that this came out! I held off on the current releases because I liked the two films joined with the trailers.Glad I waited.

I've never seen Hitchcock's Rebecca but don't think it's challenge-worthy, would any suggest it count as a horror entry? I'll probably just burn a wildcard.

Just finished watching a bunch of shorts. Got enough to get over the 90 minute mark. I'll probably watch a few more before the end of the month, was kind of a nice change of pace.
Now, I'm watching Sorority House Massacre. Probably watch part 2 later tonight, and then I think I will have to order the new Slumber Party Massacre set. I love these movies.

Man, these baseball playoffs have sucked me in again this year and slowed me way down in my march to 100. Guess that's why October is my favorite month, combining my joy of that sport and horror movies into a month-long state of happiness.

Instead of watching a few movies I went out with some friends and went to a local haunted hayride/house. The hayride sucked big time, but the house was fun and had the craziest spinning room/bridge thing I've ever been in. Usually those things are no problem for me, but I almost fell down because it was so fast and a couple friends actually went down haha.
I'll probably just turn in earlyish for the night and start the movies early tomorrow for a lazy sunday with nothing but horror and the Ravens on the schedule.

I have an integrated list of all six Legacy Collections, but I never got around to adding the Abbott & Costello features; thanks for doing the legwork! I'm updating my list accordingly, and by next October hopefully I'll have gotten around to acquiring the titles not presently in my library and I'll gorge on the whole "series." That sounds like a ton of fun.
On the first I watched "Universal Horror" the feature length documentary, then starting on the second I watched one movie each day.
I watched the trailer, then the film, then the documentary, then the film with comentary, then the trailer with comentary on Trailers From Hell.
Some films like "The Invisible Woman" didn't have trailers, comentaries or documentaries.
I ended up with 41 Total
30 films
9 rewatches with commentary
1 rewatch with new score
1 feature length documentary about the films

Our local station dropped the ball yet again and did not broadcast Elvira, so I watched the original Wizard of Gore and quite liked it. Now off to re-watch Suspiria again.

I swear, you folks would argue over the number of angels that can dance on the head of a pin (because angels do not dance--the exception being the Principality Aziraphale, who once learned to do the Gavotte. ...)
If it has a monster, it counts for the challenge. Cloverfield? Counts. Alien? Counts. Creature From the Black Lagoon? Hells yeah, it counts.

This is what I did last May for the "Make Your Own Challege" It was a lot of fun!

Anyway, we just finished with The Lost Boys, a longtime favorite of my wife's, and a first time viewing for me. I see it as the missing link between The Goonies and Twilight, and clearly taking its cues from the "Thriller" music video; not a lot of substance, but plenty of style. The 80s may not have aged well, but Bo Welch's production design still looks great after 23 years.

So I'm a little torn on how to show shorts. I've seen some people list them separate as a Wild Card for each one. I've also seen three shorts listed together as one WC.
I'm thinking I might have a day of shorts, and add up enough to equal 1.5 hours, and count them all as one entry (no WC). That would be fine, right?

Concerning TV shows:
Like the other challenges, you need four 30 minute shows for 1 entry and two hour-long shows for 1 entry. 30 minute shows typically run roughly 22 - 24 minutes without commercials and hour-long shows are roughly 43 - 45 minutes. If it's short films that are 10 minutes or less, once you hit around 23 minutes of watching them, you've reached one 30 minute show (¼ an entry). Any combination that gets you to 90 minutes can be used for 1 entry. And this is not an exact science, so if you're off by a little it's really no big deal.
When listing the TV shows try to keep them together in 1 entry.
Example: 30 min show/30 min show/30 min show/30 min show
For the sake of organization, it's advised that you keep a Temporary TV section at the bottom of your list until you get enough for an entry.

Films have advantages in counting over TV in two ways.
One, shorts added together only need to total 90 minutes instead of 120 minutes.
Two, "non-short" films count as one even if only 40 minutes ("academy-length").
This "bias" help preserve the film-centric nature of the Challenge for the purists who hate the TV inclusion.
