Yeah, that's the thing...if I didn't know it was Heath I wouldn't know who was the joker - which is awesome. The only part where I can almost recognize Heath is when he says "We're tonight's entertainment.."...his voice is more normal sounding there imo.

Great footage.

Anyone have any guesses of what villain may be hinted at the very end of the movie? I'm guessing that Bruce will see a black cat stroll by. I think Michelle Pfieffer's Catwoman is the only character from the old movies that could fit in Nolan's universe.

I'd love to see The Riddler in Nolan's Batman universe. Catwoman also makes sense since she plays a pretty big role in the Year One comics. Would be interesting to see Nolan's take on The Penguin but I think that is a very long shot.

Does anyone know if Bale is definitely locked in for anymore Batman movies after this one?

I'd be cool to see Keaton as one of the villains in the next one (or a cameo of some kind)... no idea who though...

He signed up for three films at the very least.

Two-Face is all but confirmed, though it would be cool to see catwoman show up somewhere in Nolan's Batman universe.

Yeah, from what I've read Two-Face has a pretty significant role in TDK. I'm sure there will be a new villain, probably Catwoman or Riddler.

Two Face will be the main villain in the next Batman film, with some kind of secondary villain. I hope it's not The Riddler, as that would be too reminiscent of Batman Forever. Catwoman would work well.

I had heard talk of the Penguin for the next film. Perhaps he'd be more like a Falcone kind of villian.

Why not? We've already all passed judgement on this installment. So who thinks they'll re-cast the role of the Joker?

I doubt they'll do that. Not after Ledger's death. Just have Two-Face and someone else(I'd prefer the Riddler from the remaining "realistic" villains) in the next film.

When the movie opens we'll have the Reviews thread. I think anything related to Nolan's Batman flicks are fair game here.

i only want the Penguin if Philip Seymor Hoffman takes the role. Otherwise, go with the Riddler or Catwoman.

Hinted at, yes. Not sure if the character will actually make it to the third movie though.

Spoiler:

RDF - SJD
IMDB - SJD

Notice Sarah Jayne Dunn has a listed role in The Dark Knight, yet no character name? She is rumored to be Harley Quinn. If they are writing the Joker out, I wonder what they would do with her?

Spoiler:
Perhaps she will be the one who seeks vengeance on Batman for the Joker's death. Or maybe she's going to play Selina Kyle.

Or maybe she's Ras Ah Guhl's daughter? or is someone playing that part?

I didn't know they were bringing that character into the films. Is that just a rumor you heard?

If it's a rumor, it's a very strong rumor. I haven't read anything official, obviously, but it's been mentioned from various sites. It could all be speculation though.

I thought the fight scenes in Begins were purposefully obtuse, so the audience could see what the goons were seeing: what it looks like to get the shit kicked out of you in the dark by a dude in a bat suit.

Bale is, but Nolan isn't. Some of his comments suggest that he may not be back for a third. We might get one of those situations where Nolan produces (and perhaps writes), but doesn't direct.

I don't see why Nolan wouldn't come back...it's not like he had a bad experience making TDK (as far as we know). The Dent storyline/character in the next one would be too much to pass up I think. The hard part will be saying goodbye to this series after 3, as I don't think there'd be a chance in hell of getting any more out of Bale/Nolan at that point.

I don't think he was successful, though. We the viewer know who's doing the ass-kicking, the bad guys don't, so there's little point in trying to make us feel like we're the ones under a surprise attack. We shouldn't be frustrated by it. He could've had mystery to the fight and still pulled back a bit. It's dark, it's still going to be obtuse.

It's not that big of deal, though. The movie is great anyway.
