Per the review at twitchfilm.com, does anyone know what the surprise is?

Spoiler:
The one big surprise for me was what the Batcycle turned out to be; I guarantee this is one scene that will have the fanboys cheering in the cinema.

Just saw another tv spot for this today - man, this looks like a very well made film. Can't believe how good that short commercial looked.

They're certainly making up for the quiet campaign of Batman Begins, lol.

yup, thanks. that is the one to look for. a lot of eBayers are claiming wave 1, but provide the wave 2 upc.

I was going to post the spoiler here, but it's worth seeing in the context of the rest of the film.

It's interesting to note that the hype for this film is so incredibly high that it's even making rockstars of composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard (who, don't get me wrong, have always deserved to be rockstars). But interest is so high that the two are doing their first signing tour in their careers, and here at NYC the Virgin record store has been getting non-stop calls about their signing appearance this coming Tuesday (where I'll also be interviewing the pair). I can't fathom how well this movie will do, but this is just another indicator that it's its own beast.

I guess it's possible. I was only aware of one. I've seen plenty of custom thugs on eBay.

is it the orchestral OST (because i saw a listing with various artists) and do you have it? is there any difference between the regular and this "Limited Edition" digipak i see online, besides the packaging?

Yeah, it's the orchestral OST. I don't have it, I just saw that it leaked online and found where I could listen to it. I have no clue about the packaging.

The soundtrack is basically Batman Begins with an industrial sound for the Joker, less synthesizers and a Harvey Dent theme to replace the 'love' theme.

There's still a sloppy orchestral performance in the more frenetic parts, and it's still all Zimmer with Howard barely getting a note in.

For Zimmer fans, they'll love it as usual. For someone who can't stand him (like me) it's just more of the same...it fits the tone of these films, but nothing more.

When all the various versions come out, they will all feature the same music contents.

I don't think I had seen this mentioned previously. 11 short clips at mtv (the first of which was posted recently). #11 is pretty cool.

Is there really only 20 minutes of IMAX footage? I read that there are four to six scenes filmed on IMAX. So if i already saw the first six minutes, there's only 14 minutes I haven't seen. That's kind of disappointing. I was hoping for at least 40 minutes of IMAX footage.

Much like Superman Returns Imax 3-D, I believe this is the case.

I'm going to be visiting NYC the week this opens: anyone have any theater recommendations? I'd rather pay more to get a good experience--well-behaved but excited crowd (do these exist?), comfortable/stadium seating. Thanks for the help New Yorkers.

Well since theater discussion has come up, I'm going to the Marcus Cinema in Sturtevent, WI. I'm debating on whether to see it on the Ultrascreen or to see a digital showing?

Ultrascreen is as follows:
UltraScreens®
The UltraScreens®, with razor sharp three-story tall picture, crystal clear digital sound and comfortable stadium seats are Marcus movie magic at its best.

The UltraView® auditoriums, boast a screen 75 feet wide by 32 feet tall.*

The UltraScreens® take moviegoing to a totally a new level of excitement that can never be experienced at home. The UltraScreens® are more than 500 times bigger than a typical 19”television screen.

Is this going to be a better screening or would Digital be better??

thanks

I don't understand, the IMAX movie is longer than the non-IMAX movie?
