Storm Shadow as it turns out, is neither good, nor evil in GI Joe Retaliation. His allegiance has been the subject of speculation for the months leading up to Retaliation. He's also described as a loner, which was the primary appeal for Lee in playing him:

His character is an independent combatant who fights for neither good nor evil in the story. Lee said that his status as a loner was the role’s biggest attraction and claimed he would not want to play anyone else, even if he were given a chance.

Glad to see Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow kicking some butt, they were both kind of "ho-hum" in the first movie. That International trailer is great!

The rematch between the two ninjas. A battle that seems unfair, shurikens against a machine gun that can destroy the ninja stars while they are thrown and ends with daggers "out" in a clash between the two. Cut to getting The Rock "a vehicle that works fine in neutral," but he prefers a little more speed.

Fighting in the mountains
This sequence had already been briefly shown in the first trailer and must redefine the use of wire-fu (fighting with steel cables) in Hollywood films. This longer version has more agents of Cobra going up against the Joes, we can see that it has everything to become iconic and endlessly copied. The scene ends in an unexpected way, with a sacrifice.

Earlier it was reported that this CC is a brand new character. Now in that spoilered post we find out SS in fact rescues the CC from the first movie (hence the comment about the breathing problems). Which leads me to wonder if he dies during the rescue or if he's in fact killed by a third party who assumes the mantle of CC.

Either that or they'll use the nanomites from the first film to transform him from what should have been Dr. Mindbender in the first film to a genuine badass Cobra Commander in the sequel.

Firefly and CC both look great. It is a continuing reminder of how much Sommers botched CC's look in the first film. The comparisons between the 2 are embarrassing.

I wonder how the voice for CC will turn out. Hopefully it'll be more audible than Bane's voice in TDKR.

No kidding, if weren't for Rachel Nichols and Sienna Miller I would forget that the first movie even occurred. I forgot that Ray Stevenson was Firefly -- he looks awesome.

well from what sources I can find...CC is played by Faran Tahir. Which is cool cuz that guy is awesome. Great voice. THOUGH...no idea what his CC voice will sound like.

What I love is that he has very regal body language (easily noticeable in his brief roles in Iron Man and Star Trek). It makes Cobra Commander looks so damn cool as he walks (and just plain stands) without even saying a word. But I too am eager to hear his CC voice.

He does have a walk. ST really showed it off well. That walk has presence and POWER. I'm really excited to have him as CC. Oddly enough....Tahir's natural ability is something we would want in CC.

Some very interesting news has turned up today concerning who will be the voice of Cobra Commander in the upcoming GIJOE Retaliation movie.According to Charlie Adler's Wikipedia page (the voice of Cobra Commander in GIJOE Resolute and Renegades) he has been chosen to once again voice the infamous Cobra Commander in the upcoming summer block buster GIJOE Retaliation! The usual caveats apply, until Hasbro or Paramount confirm this news it's just speculation.

Charlie Adler basically took up Chris Latta's mantle since he also voiced Starscream in the Transformers movies. He's a great choice but I was actually hoping to hear Faran Tahir take a stab at it.

aw what the fuck. So you have Tahir..but he's just a body? How fucking sad. Good voice for CC though. Alas....not a bad thing but slightly sad cuz I like Tahir.

AintItCoolNews recently interviewed GI Joe Retaliation director Jon Chu, where he cleared up a frequent subject of debate, "Is Rex Lewis the Cobra Commander in Retaliation?":

I don’t know where all this crazy, speculative stuff came from. We were asked the question, Lorenzo [di Bonaventura, Producer) and I at Toy Fair...

‘Is that the same actor’?

I was like...

‘No, its not the same actor’.

‘Is that Joseph Gordon Levitt?’

‘No, it is not!’

But it is Rex!

We are continuing that story, there is no other Cobra Commander. We can put that rumor to rest. I was waiting for this moment to finally clarify, I’m glad you asked that.
