Focus groups are going to be the death knell of movies/TV... Just because a group of fucking hockey moms want Tatum to run a train on them we get this kind of nonsense.

His male stripper movie Magic Mike comes out at the end of June, the same time GIJ2 was to come out.

I've seen it happen this close where something would get bumped to a few weeks earlier or a few weeks later...but never a movie this "big" that got bumped to a whole new year. I remember when Shutter Island got bumped...but that was bascially from a October release to a February one...and even then I think the studio announced it a few months in advance.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince getting delayed from Nov. 2008 to July 2009 is the most notable example I remember, but that was a decision by Warner to ensure a profitable 2009 blockbuster in light of The Dark Knight's massive success that year.

damn you, Tatum. Damn you for existing. Do a lot of guys even like him? GI JOE is a more male audience type of thing but still a sizable bit of women. It's not like The Expendables where it's mostly men for sure.
I can see guys liking him fine from 21 Jump Street but I can't assume he was that popular among males in GI Joe.

That changed when I saw 21 Jump Street. He can do comedy very well -- he needs to stick to that. He's not a draw for me but he's good out of his normal element of love interest/action hero. Dude has some comedic chops but the last thing I want is more of him in this.

Anyone want to buy my GI Joe comic collection? I don't want to keep this bullshit in my house. PM me with a fair price between 1 dollar and 100 dollars and it's yours. Most of the comic books are in NM to excellent condition. I don't know how to price this shit - I just want it out of my face all thanks to Paramount/Hasbro spoiling my year. I can't believe I was looking forward to this film more than The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers.

Re: G.I.Joe 2 Coming
I liked the first movie, and looked forward to the original cast returning. Not just Tatum - all of them. I was disappointed to hear that the second movie didn't feature the same cast. If they are being worked back in, I'll be happy. Building up storylines including the Baroness, and then tossing them made no sense. I'll be the only one pleased, it seems, but we'll have to see what happens in the end.

Honestly, I always felt each film in the series should focus on a different team. The only carryovers should be Snake Eyes, Duke, and, to a lesser extent, General Hawk.

Universal's THE LOOTERS (1992), starring Ice T and Ice Cube, was pushed back from July to December and its title changed to TRESPASS after the April 1992 Rodney King riots in L.A.

Yea. And I don't think anyone was really psyched to see those movies. Maybe V for Vendetta ... a little.
