Well, I'm disappointed but not surprised dude who played Wedge didn't want to do it again. But it'd have been nice if there was a spin-off about X-Wing pilots which would have given him a bigger role. Oh well.

Nathan Fillion should play Wedge... or The Rock.

It's too bad the guy who played "Fake Wedge" (Colin Higgins) passed away in 2012.

I know he's uncredited, but Higgins was originally cast in the role. Both the script and novel refer to this character as Wedge. Apparently, his one line of dialogue in the scene was a bit complicated to say and he shortened it to "That's impossible, even for a computer." He was later fired and Lawson got the role.

They must've fired the prop department and continuity too since the helmets got changed as well.

I don't think Alec would have wanted to do more SW movies either.

We don't even see the guy's helmet in the briefing scene... unless you're thinking of Red Four (Jack Klaff, pictured below), who some mistook for the same guy Luke spoke with.

Here are two articles from the official Star Wars blog that try to clear up any confusion:

http://starwarsblog.starwars.com/201...he-fake-wedge/

Apparently, three actors portrayed Wedge in A New Hope: Higgins in the briefing room, Lawson in the cockpit, with David Ankrum dubbing both of their voices.

My dad just called me and asked me to turn to FX because he is watching Super 8 and thought there was something wrong with the channel because of all the lens flares. He said he would change the channel and it was the only one "doing that". I explained to him that it was the same director who did the last two Star Trek films and he said "oh, that guy." I then told him he was directing the new Star Wars film and he said that hopefully someone shoves the flashlight up his ass before they start filming. My dad is 62 and not up on film. I just thought it was funny.

Oh I meant all the pilot helmets. They are all clean and white with blue insignias. I guess the argument could be when never saw the guys in the cockpits with the personalized helmets in the briefing room. Different wave?

And isn't there a fake Wedge at the end of the ROTJ SE in a shot or two when the end was lengthened for that awful song?

I don't think Disney would want to compete with itself using Marvel during the summer like that.

Only a week before Mission Impossible V, so better make that money the first weekend, because it will start fading fast.

Spoiler:
I'm kidding.

One of my friends is an extra on the first day of filming (today). He said they were originally going to start on Tuesday, but got put back a few days. I tried asking him for any info at all, but he said he had signed a NDF and besides which had no chance of seeing anything close to a script. He did mention that his outfit is cool, he wears a mask similar to Hannibal Lecters and he gets a blaster. Would be funny if he ended up with his own toy figure.

How the hell does this movie make December 2015 when principal photography only started today?
