I don't see the big deal other, but obviously Star Wars fans will always hold something against him because of the SE's and Prequels.

Even if he hasn't seen the trailer, I bet he has read the script or at least knows what is going to happen in the movie. I don't think he is completely in the dark.

Wasn't he in those talks in pre production?

EIther way. His not wanting to see the teaser isn't a big fucking deal.

Part of the sale to Disney was the story for the new trilogy. Abrams has changed it to include the older cast more prominently, but I haven't heard that the actual story was massively changed.

And there may be a creative thing going on, some people want nothing to do with teasers or even reviews. They either see a movie or they don't, more often based on word of mouth from friends/family than anything else. Of all the things to bust his balls over, this is the silliest.

I want to just remind everyone that this story originated from the gossip page of the New York flippin' Post. I'm not saying that the quotes weren't accurate, but this is one in a long line of click-bait nonsense. There is NO story here.

I don't really care too much either way but it does seem like Lucas is bitter at a certain segment of his fanbase that he pissed off. If he weren't so damn stubborn about not releasing the Original Trilogy unaltered he'd lose a lot of the hate that gets geared his way. Maybe he doesn't care too much but he seems to have this woe is me attitude that some of us don't respect him and is maybe a bit upset that the majority of the fanbase is excited over The Force Awakens.

I'd imagine Disney will get him to the premiere. I'm hoping the full trailers don't give too much away. I would not watch them either but they are unavoidable if you got to the movies a lot.

To each his own. I like it A LOT more than Clone Wars. It has the feel of the OT. Clone Wars had the feel of the PT - NOT a good thing.

Yeah, count me as one that loved Clone Wars but just am not feeling Rebels. I want to like it, I try to like it but there is just nothing there. It's like they're trying to replicate Asoka with Ezra but they're making every episode revolve around Ezra and he simply isn't interesting or likeable. Hopefully the change in show runners for season 2 helps this show along but as it stands I'm like 3 episodes behind right now and every time I try to catch up I can't get through the episode.

I don't mind Rebels but it is more geared towards kids and is overall a pretty simplistic show. Then again what do you really expect out of something that Disney produces and airs?

It's strange that the 2003-2005 Clone Wars series isn't on blu-ray or even iTunes. A few good episodes there.

Probably because it's no longer canon since it was retconned by the later CGI Clone Wars series.

I remember the Tartakovsky series was pretty much swept under the rug by Lucasfilm when the cg series debuted. The dvds have been out of print for years. It's been ages since I watched them and I barely remember them other than Mace Windu (?) injuring Grievous and causing the cough that he has in Revenge of the Sith. I'll have to give them another spin one of these days.

I vaguely remember it myself.

I remember Asajj Ventress was killed by Anakin in that series, which is the biggest retcon the CGI series made.

The episode that introduced Grievous is the one I remember most because he was so badass in it. He was nowhere near that badass in Episode III, which disappointed me greatly.

Clone Wars is the best thing to come out of the PT. Rebels just feels like OT leftovers.

Fuck. Am I really defending the Prequel Era?

Lucas has stated he did not like the look of the earlier CW series. I loved the last Clone Wars series but it's weakness was that it never seem to have the plot moving toward the beginning of Episode 3.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015, D: Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fis

I've watched a few episodes of Rebels now. I'm not a fan of SW exactly, I just like good shit to see. For a kids show... it's wildly generic.

There is a way to make smart quality entertainment and make it for kids. It has been done before. Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. A show that totally went nerdy w/ its source material but also kept it fresh and had a strong narrative that was multi episodic in impact that a kid could get. I FUCKING LOVED that show. Sadly Disney cut it for Avengers Assemble which isn't anywhere near good as EMH.

Like... I know a lot of shit of SW from the films and whatnot but Jesus... Rebels has some issues for sure.

But, of course, that's all intentional...they want to try and build a fanbase of youngsters for the franchise. I don't find the show THAT 'kiddy'-themed, though...there's a lot of stuff there for older fans to enjoy. Simplistic doesn't necessarily mean dull or uninteresting. It sure beats sitting through dialogue about the trade federation and/or cloning.

Then again, maybe it's because I read A NEW DAWN, and know a lot more about Kanan and Hera than has been revealed on the show so far.

The fact that you had to say it wasn't THAT kiddy themed how kiddy themed it may have went.

For me... it's weak. No imagination in originality for the positive of the property use.

All this sentence needs is an f-bomb or two and this would be the Snakiest sentence you've ever written. It's like you wrote this in Chinese and had it translated by the dudes who write subtitles for kung-fu movies.
