I rode Star Tours in Disney Workd four times in in one day a few weeks ago and that stuff hadn't debuted yet. I wonder if it's for both parks and if there are any other new planets aside from Jakku in the rotation.

So is Star Tours like the completely immersive rides (ala Transformers / Simpsons / Spiderman) at Universal or is it more of a screen and a bumpy seat?

Transformers is the most fun ride I've ever been on.

Star tours is great. There's about 20 different videos for it and now the new movie is included. I'll be in the one at WDW today hope it has the new footage..

Star Tours > Transformers
I remember riding Star Tours when I was 15 and was able to ride it last year.
Hell.. Transformers (Universal) and Spiderman (IOA) are basically the same ride.

I thought Transformers, at least here at Universal Studios Hollywood was much better then Star Tours at Disneyland. I would agree that Transformers is one of the most fun rides i've been on. Even after the update, Star Tours is largely the same outside of different locations and not particularly immersive to me.

Although I love Star tours, I have to give the overall ride experience to Transformers (comparing the Orlando version of both rides). That being said, I'll ride Star Tours a lot more times during any visit than I would Transformers. But, that's to try an get as many of the different scenes as possible!
A Star Wars motion ride in the vein of Spiderman/Transformers would be awesome. The possibilities for the ride through sets would be endless.

They also added Star Wars themes to Space Mountain (now Hyperspace Mountain) at Disneyland. I'll be there in 4 days!

Hell yeah... that's what I've been expecting. Universal has done an amazing job with immersing the customer in the experience.

^ Most of the secrecy surrounding the "I am your father." revelation has been exaggerated over the years. They make it sound like David Prowse didn't even know, yet he told fans about it at a public appearance a year before they started filming the damn movie. ![LOL](/images/smilies/lol.gif)

Prowse DIDN'T know...it was a guess about the THIRD movie, not the second one. Even Prowse was surprised at the reveal in ESB, since his line of dialogue was "Obi-Wan killed your father."

^ It's not described as a straight-up guess, but a "glimpse of a possible plot". Either way, it's amusing to read Prowse was sharing that story with fans (knowly or unknowingly) back in '78.
While the big reveal happens in the first sequel, the rest of what he said (lightsaber duel with son unwilling to kill his father) is indeed what happens in the third movie... only Vader doesn't survive.

In the Rinzler book about Empire they dig into the David Prowse loose lips issue. He did spill the beans publicly at a convention after the film was shot but before release. I'm going off memory I'll have to look it up.

You Won’t Live to See the Final Star Wars Movie : http://www.wired.com/2015/11/buildin...wars-universe/

Certainly Star Wars will be with us for a long time. Like Mickey Mouse it will probably be evergreen. If you said to a Mickey Mouse Club member in 1958 you'll never live to see the end of Mickey Mouse they might be a bit bummed out by that fact. But the truth is that no matter how much of a fan of Mickey someone was at that time, they wouldn't have much interest in today's Mickey Mouse, who mostly appears on merchandise and stars in a television show for toddlers. 100 year old fans of Steamboat Willie don't watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Disney Chanel at the retirement home.
I simply can't conceive of a Star Wars in 60 years being anything I'd be remotely interested in. So even if this guy's prediction does come true it's not like the Star Wars of 2115 would be anything like what I enjoy.

Haven't seen any site that tracks WDW changes report that (one point the date most sites gave for the change was Dec 1) but it's great news for those closer to WDW. It does seem to be one of the best. Right up there with the asteroid field and Wookie scene. Will have to see it first hand to be sure.

the ride was a little different too.
Felt more interactive, moved around a lot more and one part the entire
vehicle was extremely tilted to one side.

"Bitter, party of one. Your table is ready."

So essentially, he feels the Disney/Abrams approach was to ignore the REAL story of what happened to Anakin's grandkids (you know, the story he claimed never existed) and make a fan service picture without his creative input. I don't blame him for feeling edged out, but the man made his bed and he can lie in it. Lucas may have invented this world, but that doesn't mean he fully grasped what made it tick.
This is a man who desires total control, but it's no coincidence that the best installment in the series is the one he had the least involvment with. I bet that's always chapped his ass. Even if TFA feels like a beat for beat retread of A New Hope (and that seems to be the case), it should still blow the prequels out of the water in entertainment value. Hopefully Rian Johnson will shake things up and give us something fresh for part VIII.
