Deadpool 2 (2018)

Didn't enjoy it as much as the first film but it was still pretty fun.

Rampage (2018)

Took itself a bit too seriously, which made most of it pretty forgettable.

The final act was worth the $3.75 I paid to see this film.

Get Out. Didn't know to expect here and I was very pleased. I can see why it should have been best movie of 2017.

The 15:17 to Paris (2018) Might be well-intentioned but ultimately a terrible movie from the acting by the real life heroes to the atrocious writing. Really disappointed as I've never have hated a Clint Eastwood movie, but this is by far his worst. 1.0/5

I found the acting by the kids who are supposed to be actors even worse than the real heroes who aren't.

A Cure for Wellness - 2/5

An employee for a financial institution is sent to a health spa in Switzerland to bring back the company’s CEO. While there he realizes that the person running the facility is conducting experiments on his subjects that may be unethical. It started off with a lot of potential, but in the end it was just too long and predictable.

haha, that is true. The whole movie was just a mistake, even taking the performances out, the story was so boring and the actual attack portion took up, what, 25-minutes? Better off making a documentary or something.

Anyway, also saw Houseguest (1995) last night. Stupid for sure but kind of liked it only for some strange nostalgia as I remember seeing this back in the day. 3.0/5

Cargo, a Netflix original film starring Martin Freeman.

As a casual fan of the zombie genre, I liked it. It actually feels fairly light on zombies, and is more about this corner of the world left in the wake of the apocalypse, and a man struggling to protect his infant daughter. Freeman is good, playing an everyman kind of character in an impossible situation.

Sword Art Online: The Movie - Ordinal Scale (2017) on Hulu, which fortunately offers the subtitled version in addition to the dubbed version that showed up in my recommendations. If you have watched and enjoyed the first two SAO seasons, you'll probably enjoy the movie as it's more of the same. If you haven't watched the first two seasons, there's little point in watching the movie, since the brief recap at the beginning doesn't give you anywhere near enough information to fully process who and what the movie is about.

Deadpool 2...sometimes they say bigger isn't always better. this is quite the exception. i think i liked this more than first. giggled like a school girl throughout and that it had some deep, warm moments made it that more memorable, of course they were few and far between, but worked. loved it all. the gags, the references, the violence, the mayhem, the banter between characters, all of it clicked and worked well. they took the first and continued in exact same tradition, with the exception of the heart. it was all real well done and Ryan Reynolds is so perfect in this role. all so well done.

I remember seeing Houseguest in the theater back in 1995. I wish Phil Hartman was still around.

The acting was horrible so it was a perfect fit for Cinemax.

Arrival (2016) on Amazon Prime. I have no quibbles with the cinematography, score, acting, or pacing, but it still didn't wow me because it felt like it had largely been done before, and the opening monologue gives away (or at least telegraphs) a bit too much. Some of the visuals make me wish I had seen it theatrically.

I finally got around to watching Avengers: Infinity War today and I loved it. It was everything I wanted to see in an Avengers movie. I can't wait to see where they go from here in the next movie. 4.5/5

It might be a sappy movie you would see on Lifetime but I liked it.

2006 was a long time ago.

Eraser (1996) — Dumb for sure, and is a lesser Schwarzenegger movie, still was a lot of fun. 3.75/5

A decent movie for a Wed night

Glad it was on HBO and not Netflix or a theatrical release.

Rome (2009-10)

I had heard a lot of positive reviews about this but was rather disapointed. I didn't care much for the extravagant (and hardly credible) adventures of the two leading characters and the historical political depiction of the republic was somewhat flawed. This just confirms for me that I really am a film lover and not so much a TV fan.

The Trainrobbers (1973)

Later day John Wayne western was rather boring and empty. Lots of shots of posse riding in the desert, the sunset, over the hills, along the railroad tracks, etc. Script would have made a good 10-minutes short film.
The Duke as bad as ever in his righteous and manly self. Only Ann-Margret is worth a look. Skip it!

Conan the Destroyer (1984)

Having recently rewatched the original, I had to reimmerse myself in this sequel. Arnold probably had acting (and english) lessons in between both films as he's not as bad here. In fact, I found the film even a little better than the first one.
A group of adventurers lead a young virgin princess on a quest to find a holy artifact that will bring a god back to life. Little do they know the god is a demon and the princess will be sacrificed...

Mobius (2014)

French film shot in english with french and british actors speaking russian with subtitles! Started out really slow with lots of cliches but picked up nicely in second half with a few good twists.
A stock trader is coerced into helping the french financial police get their hands on a big russian oligarch in exchange for a clean slate. But all are not who they seem...
