Maybe it's a funeral for all the millions Superman killed in Man of Steel?

It would come out of nowhere if Lois Lane dies, freeing up Superman to date Wonder Woman in the Justice League movies. If they really wanted to push the envelope, kill off Lois Lane in the first act.

Re: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) (D: Snyder; S: Gadot)

While I'm not adverse to seeing Lois killed off if it served a strong and interesting dramatic need, I'm not really seeing the need for WW and Superman to be romantically involved- especially in a way that Synder and Goyer would illustrate it- i.e. a lot of physical groping.
It's enough to me, and sometimes even more affecting, when there is a mutual attraction implied that isn't immediately acted upon.

To kill her off so that they can hook up 20-40 minutes later in the same movie, is off putting to me.

For which Amy Adams would be eternally grateful.

Why? She hated MoS?

Killing Lois would make no sense and not serve any real purpose(other than to put WW with Supes), especially in the first act. We have zero attachment to her as a character thus far. She was underdeveloped in MoS so we need some more character development before taking such a drastic turn.

Yeah, but not a perfectly fine Superman movie.

I'm sure Amy Adams spared no righteous indignation at the Superman character assassination that was Man of Steel.

She's top of the A-list, this material is beneath her. The first movie was pretty silly especially in regards to her role, dialogue and character arc.

She doesn't need this franchise.

Unless she's a billionaire heiress, no million dollar paycheck is beneath her.

Would they even have the stones to kill off Lois this early on in the rebooted Superman franchise?

Her character was the smartest person in the movie, plus it probably offered a better paycheck than say, Sunshine Cleaning. Plus I want to see another Enchanted eventually, so hopefully she's not too big for that.

I didn't like the movie, so it's beneath the star of Cruel Intentions 2 and Psycho Beach Party!

Why not? They are essentially killing off Superman (pushing him aside, not literally killing him off) so Batman can star in the new Superman movie.

Re: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) (D: Snyder; S: Gadot)

They've broken up the marriage between Lois and Clark in the comics, with no real glimpse it will be put back anytime soon. Now that Warner is fully committing to a slate of Justice League-themed movies, Lois Lane becomes a much harder character to place in that firmament.

If you've already blown up Superman's mythos in Man of Steel, why not go all the way and kill off Lois Lane in MOS 2.

I always kind of like how they flirted with the idea of Lois and Bruce in the DCAU.

I can't remember any interactions between the two outside of the Batman/Superman episodes where Super and Bats met for the first time. Maaaaaan, that was awesome. Did they see each other again? Lois and Bruce, I mean.

As has been stated often, Batman V Superman is not Man of Steel 2.

Yah, I don't quite understand why everyone is all up in arms over the fact that a movie called Batman V Superman has the nerve to feature Batman.

It's not the title--which was only revealed a month ago--that people are up in arms about. It's that even after the Comic Con reveal, Snyder kept on saying "this is still a Superman movie first and foremost" but obviously WB execs got their way and decided to make this "watch this movie to get you excited for the NEXT movie" and screwed Superman fans over by releasing the actual sequel 5 years after MOS.

I myself have resigned to the fact that this movie is nothing more than a Batman Reboot that happens to have Superman in it. But I understand those that are still pissed off about that fact.

Wait since when is this not a MOS sequel? I thought that was always the intent?

A couple of weeks ago Warner Bros. released their tentative schedule for DC movies over the next few years, and they had MOS 2 listed in 2017 or something.

July 2016: Shazam (Captain Marvel)
Christmas 2016: The Sandman
May 2017: Justice League
July 2017: Wonder Woman
Christmas 2017: Flash and Green Lantern
May 2018: Man of Steel 2
