Not surprising. I knew this was going to be a Superman in Batman's world instead of the other way around. Nothing new in that picture. It's the same as one of the promotional images from MOS. They just photoshopped the rain and Gotham background in and trimmed Kal's hair a bit.

I bet at Comic Con they're gonna reveal that that's only half of a picture. The other half is with Batman to the right of Superman standing atop something from a higher elevation so you get the visual that Batman is better and ultimately more important than Superman in the movie. When again, it should be the other fucking way around. Superman should be fucking floating in the air, cape billowing about UNDER THE LIGHT OF THE SUN while Batman looks up at him from below in the fucking shadows. That's the epitome of both characters.

Why would you release an image of your guy whose most distinguishing characteristic is that he can fly, standing on solid ground? Stupid idiots.

So looks like the costume is the same one from Man of Steel. I'm fine with that personally as I really didn't mind the way it looked. I know some wanted it to be a bit brighter though.

Not quite the same. There are several small detail changes that will probably go completely unexplained in the new movie.

And why exactly would "small detail changes" need explaining? People don't and won't give a shit. I sure as hell don't. The movie is going to be long enough to introduce new characters, a plotline and other elements than spend a single minute on costume changes.

Yeah, there are longer cuffs, a thicker "belt" and square "buckle", as well as a smaller S shield. This silver "ribs" above the waist have also been spaced differently.

Okay I guess I didn't see them side by side. They're pretty damn close to the same thing though. The belt area is different and the markings on the rib area look slightly different. Also I guess the colors on the suit look like they've been slightly brightened.

They also don't appear to be quite as silver any more. On the old suit is was one separate piece. Now you can see the texture of the main suit fabric between the ribs.

I think I sort of liked Cavill's hair a bit longer like it was in Man of Steel than the new look. It doesn't look terrible but a bit too slicked back or something.

At least we got a small S-Shield back. The changes are subtle but definitely there. I'm pretty positive that WB is basing a lot of this marketing campaign on the following Jim Lee art. It's too bad we had to get the New 52 scheme.



A lot of the details in both costumes have crept into the officially released photos. Walmart is even carrying a new superhero line of shirts with the image this summer.

Visually speaking I just wish Snyder's olor palette was lighter. In a lot of shots it doesn't irk me but once you hit a plane of dark colors it saps out so much life of the color.
