Every movie goes through re-shoots and pick ups. Nothing new. This movie doesn't come out for 8 1/2 months. They have an eternity to finish and lock it.

Yeah, there really isn't a right or wrong way to make a movie. Sometimes chaos works. Downsizing was planned meticulously for years, by one of my favorite directors, and it was awful. Half of The Godfather was shot with the studio threatening to fire Coppola and/or Pacino. Back to the Future fired the lead after weeks of shooting. We all know about the shark problems on Jaws and I believe scenes were being rewritten basically on the fly there as well (and writer Carl Gottlieb was employed as an actor to have him on set in case he was needed).

Kind of wish it was a better look at his overall appearance as Joker. The stuff we’ve seen all seems to be pre turning into Joker.

i don't know what to think. For one, it looks very artsy and unsure how a movie about the king of crime of gotham would look like this. On the other hand, the guy is deranged and seeing how he started would be nice.

That was..a thing.
I just don’t need a backstory on Joker. It looks well-shot and Phoenix seems to have gone all in on the performance (and shocking weight loss) - I’d be more interested if it had nothing to do with Batman or DC, trading out the Joker persona for some other “loser who finally cracks” story. I guess I’ll just wait for reviews.

I already knew it was going to be "artsy" and liked the trailer, of course I don't mind a character-driven film and it's something different from the numerous other comic book (based) movies. IMO, it could be a homerun for Warner. If it's good, I actually can see Phoenix getting an Oscar nod. Again, if it's good. What I found interesting is, the story is dark but seems fairly brightly lit... IDK, interesting contrast.

This forum I swear.
"I don't like them giving an origin to the Joker". " I don't feel that we need an origin for the Joker".
Also this forum:
"I still love Batman 89!" (which featured an origin of The Joker and was almost more about the Joker than Batman)
"Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Rocks!"(which featured backstory about the Joker)
Lets not discount the fact that Batman: The Killing Joke is one of the most acclaimed comic book stories of all time and features...an origin of the Joker.
Personally I'm sold. Phoenix seems to bring it, I like his look, I like his laugh and I think it looks pretty damn interesting. The only thing that is kind of strange is not having Batman around already. Do we need a Joker origin movie? Probably not. But if its well done, then who cares?
