I was checking IMDB, I guess that guy was in the TUdors.

I got 2 programs running that will capture #gameofthrones hashtag tomorrow as well as saving all mentions of Game of Thrones. I think I might run a save program for all mentions of stark or ned.

IMO Killing Ned in book 1 would be like if JRR Tolkien had Frodo killed in Bree and Samwise carrying the ring

I've seen a couple of people who think the Drogo scenes were just a swerve to make people think he was going to die instead of Ned, and he'll be fine next week

It also allowed him to see her one last time, and presumably gave him a little peace knowing that she's (relatively) safe for the moment. Very nice touch that added a great deal of extra emotion.
This scene playing out visually had far more of an impact on me than it did in the book. It really packed a wallop.

Visually I think Sean Bean did a great job of showing Ned as the ultimate fish out of water in Kings Landing, and the complete lack of understanding of how this could be happening came across better on screen than in the book

Stannis is getting name dropped ALOT in the show, I wonder if the show is going to get another B-Lister to portray Stannis.

I'm guessing that Stannis is definitely a role they are going to offer to known actors, rather than audition for.
What I'm really wondering about is how they are going to handle Jamie, since he's MIA for most of the second book. It would be a shame to replace him with a different actor, as that greatly diminishes the impact of his character arc. One option, I suppose, is to accelerate his story and move some of the stuff from book 3 into book 2.

"We'll need you for filming full time in 2011, then for a week or two 2012, then back to full time for 2013. So feel free to line up a project or two for the time between Season 1 and Season 3.
Oh, and we're going to need to amputate your hand if that's OK."

I'm actually hoping the series will be popular enough so that all the books get made. Maybe that would light the fire under Martin's ass that would be necessary to get him to finish the last two books (hope he doesn't up the number of volumes again) in a more timely fashion (less than 5-6 years between books).

Martin mentioned on his blog yesterday that we could start hearing about season 2 casting this week. He said they have 5 or 6 people that they are finalizing deals for.
Season 2 starts shooting next month.

On the Facebook GoT page, some people are threatening to quit watching the series because HBO killed their favorite character, not realizing the series is based on a book.

From the main thread
Well he's sort of got it right.
Interesting that Dany went into labor without looking particularly pregnant - must be a preemie. Doesn't bode well for either mother or child to give birth in the middle of a demonic ritual, either.

Review of the last episode is up on http://podcastoficeandfire.com/
Haven't listened to it yet, but I've been enjoying some of their recaps.
Edit: I just listened to it, and they brought in a guest that really ruins the flow of it for me.

It's fantastic how some of them will settle down a tish before next week and then be all up in arms again about Drogo.
