Re: Game of Thrones, Season #1 - SPOILERS thread
Anyway, since Asha is barely there in the second book, I'm much more interested in who they come up with for Melisandre and Stannis. I like the suggestion of Christopher Eccleston that's been bandied about (for the latter).

What about Michelle Trachtenberg as Meera reed, that seems pretty popular with the WiC crowd.

She is American. So the chances of her getting cast are minimal at best. I do like her though.

She's no older than Charisma Carpenter was when she started playing Cordelia, who is the same age as Meera. Considering the kids have been aged up, I don't think it's a big deal.
Oh, and hey, Google image search Michelle Trachtenberg with safe search off. Niiiice. Also makes me feel like a dirty old man. But still, niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I HATED the added scene with Robert & Cersi. They have changed Cersi so much that I do not know how it will play out and is a little disappointing.Did not care for the Ned & Jamie fight, Ned was not suppose to be able to hold a candle to Jamie in a fight. Liked the scene other wise. I really like the Renly and the Varys added scenes, cleared up a lot and just really good scenes.

Yeah, I didn't care much for that scene either, but more-so because Robert's voice has become distracting to me. At least I won't have to deal with it much longer.

I think they are trying to soften Cersi to make her more likable, but the way they are going she is going to be upset by the red wedding and completely different from the books.

In another forum I'm on, there are a lot of people (who've read the books) who are amazed that Renly and Loras are gay. They somehow missed the incredibly unsubtle clues Martin dropped throughout the series. I mean, the Knight of Flowers and his Rainbow Guard -- the Village People weren't that obvious.

Still, the books handled it with more subtlety than last night's scene. At this point it the book, it wasn't at all obvious. With Loras, maybe, but not with Renly.

Yeah, that came as a surprise to me. Of course, at this point in the books both were very minor characters.

Yeah, I knew it was implied in the books, but wasn't expecting that scene at all.
I wonder if they are using stock slurping noises, or if they let the actors make them.

Wasn't Lancel another character that was kinda known to be gay, and that is why Jamie was even more pissed about him sleeping with Cersi?
And at this point in the books, I thought both were characters were classified as pretty much the ancient equivilant of metrosexuals.

I didn't like that they already made it so obvious that they're gay. Also do not like Addy as Robert. Or Cersei..That one's pretty upsetting, character is way too different and sympathetic. Bronn seems right except I saw him as a lot younger.
