Funny thing about the BB ad is it states 40 per store on the PSP ad on page 16...but on the front page PSP ad it states min 20 per store So if you're in the BB line and you're sitting somewhere around #30 I would ask the first worker I see how many do they have to sell.

Damn, these games are getting some good scores. Only planned on buying 2 of them but I may get 3 or 4.

Hmm, in the fine print of the ad pictured above it states that the deal expires April 10, 2005?

No doubt about the review scores. NEarly all the games I've seen have had fairly favorable reviews with a handful of them getting outstanding reviews. Don't remember other console launch game reviews but the PSP seems to have a lot of AA titles. Lumines, Wipeout, Ridge Racer, THUG, Twisted Metal etc. all look good.

To anyone who already has it, have you tried the program PSP Video 9 for converting video files???
http://www.pspvideo9.com/

According to the site:
PSP Video 9 is a free PSP video conversion and management application. It can convert regular PC video files (avi, mpeg, etc) into PSP video files, as well as manage/copy these PSP video files between your PC and PSP.
It's freeware and looks simpler to use than the G3P program, but who knows about the quality. Anyone use it, or want to be a tester?

I'm in the same boat as you.

I was only planning on getting one, maybe two games, but it looks like I'll be walking away with at least four.

I was at the mall for lunch and decided to ask what the pre-order situation is at Gamestop.

You can still pre-order and you're guaranteed to get on on 3/24.

I'm still on the fence but if I do decide to get one, I certainly won't get up early or go out of my way.

I just did it at mine for Wipeout. Weird thing is, I would have normally only received $11 in trade for the three games I used.

Well I canceled my order from kbtoys. Every Gamestop near me has preorder spots still available for Thursday. I never could figure out if kbtoys had enough or not since they still have them available and when I emailed them they said they "hoped" to have enough. Plus I had preordered the package with the NBA game, and it's received some pretty poor reviews so far. The final factor was I knew that, at best, kbtoys would ship it on Thursday, meaning I'd have to (gasp!) wait the entire weekend while all you bastards () had yours. "F" that!

Yea, it looks like Sony has plenty of supply on this one. I was at Wal Mart this morning asking were they selling the games that already came in (they weren't), but out of curiosity I asked how many units would they have for sale. The manager in electronics told me 25 units. That sounds like a pretty good amount. I asked would they restrict the sale (like 1 per person) and she said she doesn't think so

Read on a different board that some best buys would be getting 300 in... although I have no verification. Still, that sounds like an obscene number that I don't think will sell out that quickly...

Where can one get the 1 gig memory stick? Everywhere I check doesn't have or doesn't carry them. Heck, there's only 4 on ebay last I checked, too.

Just checked my usual sources...nothing in stock.

Best to call someone like ecost and see when they will be back in stock.
Also, check with bhphoto.com as they refill stock pretty quick.

edit - found one...but the price hits the pocket hard

Okay, I'm a little worried about when my preorder at bestbuy.com will come in. Anyone have experience with the site, as far as when they ship out preorders? Will the ship it a few days before release to get it in my hands on release date, or is that out of the question?

They don't fill me with much hope. A couple of days ago I got a RewardsZone email from them, about a PSP game offer. Spend 70, get a 10 dollar certificate, spend 100, get a 20 dollar one, spend 125, get 30. I knew they already had a similar deal up on bestbuy.com, but the 30 dollar certificate required a 150 dollar purchase. At 125, I could buy a couple of first party and one third party game. Clicked on the link, it took me to the normal "deal" page. Called RewardZone, they had no idea, transferred me to website. Website had no idea, they transferred me back to RewardZone. Finally, they just filed a ticket... anyone else get this email?

Question. I'm trying to figure out if it is better to buy games from Best Buy B&M and their deal (buy 3 games get a $20 GC) or Best Buy online (spend $100 and get a $20 online GC). If I buy 2 games at $49.99 online, with tax would that count as "spend $100" or would I still be stuck at $99.98?

Hell no, and the fact that now that's twice I've been passed over for PSP offers by Best Buy as a RZ member has me in the red!

My "uneducated" guess is that they will ship on Thursday

I'm guessing that buying 2 games at 49.99 would not qualify as a 100 dollar purchase. Also, you'll have to pay shipping, wait for the games to come, and most of the launch games are 39.99 anyway. And you can only use the online digital coupon, well, online, and it expires (gift cards do not expire, at least here in CA).

As for the RewardZone email... I'm assuming they sent it to me because I preordered a PSP from them, and they wanted me to buy games. It did say something like "load up your PSP" or something to that effect. Although I am still dumbfounded as to how and why Bestbuy sends out reward zone deals and weekend coupons...

I think the promo # is 3404 for their system. Go to www.cheapassgamer.com and check out the big thread under cheap ass gaming deals for more details. Threre's way too many people getting in on this deal for it not to be nationwide, so I think your local EBGames store is either lazy or making up their own rules. I'd suggest you just go to another one in your area and give it another shot.

I'm planning on trading in 9 of my crappier X-box Games that aren't excluded for 3 PSP Games for $39.99 each (total $120). I'll then pick up the games and then just turn around and use it for credit towards my PSP or use it for other games like Ridge Race or Lumines that didn't apply for this promo.

Thanks fujishig,

At this rate, I'll get a RZ email three weeks from now saying I can buy extra PSP cases for 5% off!
