Will people complain if they film in Guatemala again for Yavin? Oscar Isaac is from Guatemala so...

I have to wonder how much physical activity they'll expect of Hamill? The OT never had much in the way of lightsaber fights compared to the PT... I don't suspect Mark is going to have many action scenes in the forthcoming movies.

I just hope he plays Luke a little more like he did in Star Wars and TESB, with some humor and goofy humility. His performance as Luke in ROTJ was laughable at best. He was trying too hard to act, which was obvious, and it came off as a really stiff performance by someone without the acting chops to pull it off (although nothing compared to Hayden and Natalie's performances in the PT).

Were there any really good performances by anyone in the PT? I thought Samuel L. Jackson gave one of his worst performances ever in those movies.

Ian McDiarmid and Liam Neeson gave decent performances I thought.

The General Grevious character was interesting in Episode III, though he didn't have much to do.

Sure, but McDiarmid had already more or less known how to play the role for many years before filming. And Neeson is, well, Neeson.

I don't think anyone expected such a stinker of a performance from Natalie Portman. Christ, her performances in Leon and Beautiful Girls at 11 and 14 were outstanding. Not necessarily all her fault due to the massive amount of green screen and trite dialogue, but still... she was sleepwalking through those movies.

Pretty much outlier performances by otherwise decent actors. Even character Yoda was dull expect for a couple of scenes.

They could always paste his face on a digital model and have it jump around like a frog on a hot plate.

I've always thought that stiffness was intentional -- after the lesson in the cave on Dagobah and his confrontation with Vader, Luke learned his lesson and tamped down on his emotions, just like the Jedi of the PT.

Here's a crazy idea: Yoda says that once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Luke actually did give in to the Dark Side near the end of Jedi when Vader taunts him about Leia. What if Luke's in hiding because he's struggling against the Dark Side within himself and doesn't want to risk hurting others?

BDW (Lando) will have a part on the Rebels show!

BTW, how do ou figure Luke failed in the cave? I think the EU explained that it tested your biggest fear and Luke was supposed to do nothing but stare it down.

I hope there isn't a Luke has a bit of the Dark Side in him plot in this movie. Bi-polar Spock was bad enough in the two Abrams Star Trek films.

Yoda tells Luke he won't need a weapon, but he takes his lightsaber anyway, then after he "kills" Vader, the mask disappears revealing Luke's own face. I don't see how that can be interpreted as anything but a failure.

Most actors don't do their own stunts anyway. They have stunt actors for that. You don't think Christopher Lee was doing his own stunts as Count Dooku, do you? The dude was 80+ years old in those movies.

Depending. Stunts and doing action can be different things.

Mark Hamill - The Joker/Luke Conversation (Mark does both voice as if they were having a real conversation, AWESOME).
-Hamill is still the best Joker EVER.

And of course, there's the part where Yoda says "remember your failure at the cave".

Come on? You're the one who thought Hamill would be doing his own stunt work.

YOU said "stunt work".. I said "physical activity"... big difference. This might shock you, but I'm actually aware that movies feature special effects and stunt actors.

It's not unbelievable to think that Hamill could do some action. It won't be massive but he could swing that laser light sword thing that goes *makes saber sounds* that thing.

He won't be jumping around like crazy but he could do some action.

Alec Guinness set a pretty high bar for "old Jedi action" in ANH. Not sure Hamill can live up to that.

I'd say he set it pretty low given the light saber fight in ANH. That sequence was terrible by today's standards, in my opinion.

I'm sensing sarcasm.
