Snake has said that he saw RoboCop when he was 3, so I would say you are correct. I saw it when I was 6, so I'm in that same camp, though I liked The Jungle Book.

I watched Robocop when I was a kid too. Although I had to watch the neutered-for-TV version with most of the violence and language cut out.

Think a 70s style variety show featuring Bea Arthur, Art Carney, and Jefferson Starship. This thing makes KISS: The Phantom of the Park look like goddamned Blade Runner.
The only redeeming feature is the cartoon sequence that introduced Boba Fett, and even that looks like whoever made it was on acid.

Yeah, it's really, really fucking awful. Like, if you've never seen it, you can't imagine how awful. Like, even if you were five years old and watching it with your parents, you felt embarassed because even though it was new Star Wars stuff, you, even in your youtful naiveté, knew something was horribly, horribly wrong that went beyond Luke Skywalker having a girls' haircut.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, here is the holiday special:
And the cartoon, which does have a Heavy Metal (and Moebius in particular) look to it.
^ This cartoon is an easter egg on the 9 disc blu-ray.

John Landis mentioned during a Q&A on Friday that Disney will be putting out the original Star Wars "the way it was". Not sure where he got the info, but hopefully he knows something we don't.

Well, it won't be exactly the same...not sure if this got posted before or not.

The new 'Star Wars' films have a different opening fanfare — here's what it looks and sounds like
"Star Wars" fans everywhere will remember the drum roll and opening fanfare of the 20th Century Fox logo at the beginning of each film — but that's all gone now in the new "Star Wars" digital releases on sale Friday.
Because Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4 billion, it seemed logical that future "Star Wars" films would no longer feature the 20th Century Fox logo and fanfare. But it turns out Disney has also removed it from all previous "Star Wars" films (except for the original 1977 "Star Wars," as 20th Century Fox still owns the distribution rights).
In place of the 20th Century Fox opening, Disney now begins each "Star Wars" episode with the Lucasfilm logo but has given it its own opening fanfare that is pretty close to the original's — there are still trumpets, but the classic drumroll is gone.

The lack of the 20th Century Fox fanfare is disappointing but not really surprising. As much as I'd love to have it there it's not something that will bother me too badly if we get the Original Trilogy released without other changes.

My only issue is that it sounds like an edited clip (which it is), I would rather John Williams while he's recording TFA do the new intro music.

Didn't we already know this at the time of the digital releases? In fact, this article is from April.

Leia's gold bikini is being auctioned on October 1.

It is expected to sell for $80,000-$120,000. That seems low to me. There has to be some filthy rich 40 year old virgins out there who will pay a million dollars just to jerk off to it.

That's why I said I want sure if this was posted before. The new intro on the digital releases are for the special editions. So I guess most of us were hoping releasing the originals would give us everything in its original form. But I'm guessing not. I guess I'll just slap in the Harmy editions into the case with the official "original" trilogy whenever it comes out.

Assuming that the originals will need to be put back together and have work done on them I don't have a problem with the opening being changed. I don't like it but I look at is the same way as a remaster of and old movie. The company that does the remastering has something in the credits not making it "original" anymore.

So if the originals come out on physical media (apparently Fox doesn't have the digital rights to anything but Ep IV, as evidenced by the existing digital releases) before 2020 and thru the existing agreement, then yes, I would expect the Fox Fanfare.
If the set comes out after 2020, or thru a new agreement where Disney buys out Fox's interest, then I wouldn't expect the Fanfare on anything except possibly Ep. IV (depending on the terms of the agreement).
It will definitely not be on any new movies, which is what I thought we were discussing here, and thus why I was unsure of how this was news now.

I'd like to request that the end of the movie features "Sit Ubu, sit. Good dog." or the little girl saying "Dic"
