If I was an actor being considered for a role and I was told that I had to watch the prequels to prepare I would demand that I got an extra 15% total gross back end put into my contract on top of my salary.

How old is Han supposed to be in SW? 25 or so(to Luke's 17/18)? That put him at 55 in the new trilogy. Not unreasonable to have an 18 year old. However Ford at 70 definitely puts her in grand daughter range.

It appears the female lead described as "independent, good sense of humor" has yet to be cast. I'm not sure which one is supposed to be Han and Leia's daughter, but I'd buy someone like Hurd-Wood in that role over Moretz. And again, I like Chloe in general -- it's just her rabid fanbase with their #chloe4starwars Twitter campaign (and awful fan manips) that I find off-putting.

I think they could get away with a 16-17 year old kid for Han/Leia and just assume Leia is in her mid/late 50's in Episode 7 meaning she had her kid(s) in her late 30's/early 40's).

SOURCE
New rumors (still waiting for Disney to confirm)...
1) Possible Episode VII subtitle is "A New Dawn".
2) Pinewood Studios housing sets for Mos Eisley Cantina, a power plant, and a full-scale Milennium Falcon!

Hugo was a big, high-profile, Oscar winning hit that made $185 Million worldwide. And a pretty great film to boot.

I'd rather see locations like Yavin IV again, since one of the EU novels has Luke's new Jedi Academy based there. Cloud City would be cool too, especially if they actually show Bespin.

I never thought I would actually agree with moviefan on something, but I do agree with him on this.
Statements like "The EU is all crap" are just obnoxious as hell made by clueless people who don't have any idea what they are talking about.
Yes, a huge percentage of the EU is crap, but that holds true with anything and everything. Sturgeon's Law says 90% of everything is crap. 90% of movies are crap. Seriously, there are like a hundred movies made every year, and only ten or so are actually worth watching. 90% of video games, books, comics, music, etc. is all crap.
Heck, even with the Star Wars movies, there have only been two out of six that are objectively good movies. The others are guilty pleasures, but they really aren't objectively well made movies.
Most of the Bantam era of Star Wars EU from the 90s was pretty bad. Timothy Zahn, Michael Stackpole, and Aaron Allston were pretty much the only good writers during that era. I think most EU bashers are really just familiar with this era of the EU.
The quality started improving when Del Rey got the EU license in 1999. The New Jedi Order series was really good. The Clone Wars prequel era EU was also surprisingly good considering the source material (the prequel movies) they built off of was pretty bad. That Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter novel by Michael Reaves was just fricking badass. If only Episode 1 could have been half as good as that novel...

Shadows of the Empire isn't really that good. It was hyped up as a big multimedia event with action figures, a video game, a comic book series, and a novel. The novel itself has never been regarded as being one of the good pieces of EU.
They repeated that whole multimedia event thing a few years ago with The Force Unleashed. It wasn't very good either.
Try reading the X-Wing series by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston. Those are good EU books from the 90s Bantam era. They are better than Zahn's trilogy. Zahn was okay, but I feel his work is overrated. He basically created the EU, but his Thrawn trilogy is far from the best EU out there.
