I've been wondering how much they're even going to use Luthor. I would have to imagine that the meat of the film is going to be the interactions between Superman and Batman, in fact I think they will actually antagonizing each other for a lot of the film. And I believe there have been rumors of another villain such as Metallo, so how much time does that even leave for Luthor? My guess, is that he may not have to be that intimidating.

Actually, I think Luthor will be referred to throughout the movie, but not seen until the very end. Superman and Batman have been fighting, and Superman finally has Batman on the ropes and is about to deliver the final blow. Suddenly, a green beam of light appears and knocks Superman back! Luthor emerges from the shadows and declares "Now you're going to have to deal with both of us." [ROLL CREDITS]

My thing is I don't care if they're going in a different direction with Luthor, if they want to modernize the character by making him a tech geek turned billionaire type whatever that's fine. My biggest thing with Eisenberg is that he's a pretty small guy who doesn't look intimidating in the slightest and I can't see having the presence to seem like a viable threat. Granted Lex isn't exactly some muscle bound type villain or anything but he definitely has a presence and can seem threatening.

Gotham didn't even get that messed up in TDKR
Bridges blown up, stadium blown up, few buildings hit by missles, nothing that would take all that time to rebuild
Call bullshit on that info

Sounds like waaaaay too much backstory.
It's sounds so close to the nu52 that it comes off as fanwank. On the other hand, if DC is really pushing for the movies to mirror nu52, it's painfully plausible...

Sounds more like Batman in Kingdom Come to me.

Actually quite a few buildings were brought down since Bane laced the tunnels and sewers with bombs. I know because I watched TDKR today.

That info sounds FN terrible. If true, it's probably what they were going with BEFORE they decided to push back the project.
The hilarious part is that Bruce Timm and associates would probably come up with a great premise for this movie in less than an hour if they were asked.
